We've already got four right backs at the club. Unless he can play LB as well I don't see the point of this one at all.

Better quality back up for 32yr old Trippier who'd get plenty of game time. Ashby can go on loan and if he impresses we have two for the future or sell for a profit like Man City and Chelsea use for beating FFP.

We also have two midfielders coming back from being on loan, what’s the point is signing anymore.

Southampton are better to trade players in return, than getting cash. Seems they have an interest in Fraser, maybe we could send manq there with him, maybe another player? Get the fee down to near nothing, and chelsea get fuck all sell on.

How many of those four would you like to see start 10+ games for us next season?

Nice to see they bent over backwards for the Livramento deal to Chelsea. What a fucking shite set of terms to agree to.

Guess it’s fine unless you happen to get relegated and have to sell everyone. Couldn’t happen to Southampton, who never flirt with relegation ???

Is there a point where you’ll trust our transfer process, which basically has a 100% track record so far?

Evening all, here’s a video detailing everything you need to know about Tino Livramento and why he’s a shrewd signing for Newcastle in under 3 minutes for those interested. I hope you find this useful and I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have that spring to mind, cheers and enjoy your week!

Thanks but I'm not watching that when there's a £30m difference in valuations. Looks like it's going nowhere unless Southampton actually want to get the deal done.

He's the only one who could potentially be the long term Trippier replacement. I can't see Ashby getting to that level.

I wouldn't call Chris Wood a success and still too early to tell on Targett, Gordon, Kuol, and Ashby.

I think Wood was a qualified success.  He certainly helped keep us up, then was sold a year later for a loss of a few million.

We stayed up and got £15m for him. Resounding success.

Unbelievable bit of business looking back considering we were without Wilson. He held the ball up and allowed others to play their game and contribute.

As soon as we sold him it was great business. If we’d have been stuck with him it would have been one of the worst transfers we’ve ever done.

Except for the bit about avoiding relegation. He did the job he was asked to do.

It’s been done to death this. I believe we stayed up in spite of him, not because of him. Others think the opposite. It’s fine that not everyone agrees.
