Bitter sweet is sort of means the end of Fabian. Let’s welcome the depth. Maybe it’s because I haven’t seen Thiaw and Botman with our first choice wingers. But I still prefer Schar x Burn in defence. Maybe it’s the cup win. But I have a sense of some intangible element that just makes them rock solid together. Like yeh on paper Thiaw and Botman are better players. But Fabby just finds a way and Burn doesn’t lose important headers.
Groundhog63
First half when Richarlson was clear through? He just stormed over and flattened him, great tackle.

This is the secret to your defensive success. Last season Schar and Burn looked like Vidic and Stam. If Howe can make a bold decision for the attack too, he'll become my manager of the century. Jack14Bojangles
The more I read your comments here, the more unbelievable I find that Nagelsmann didn't nominate him for the national team. Is Nagelsmann blind?

Is Nagelsmann blind? Selfishly I don't mind it. Bruno, Wolte, Gordon - seem to be getting minutes while players from bigger clubs get rests in Intl football. It stinks. Is Nagelsmann blind? Is it possible he or the people on his coaching staff just didn't watch many Newcastle games until recently? I guess with Woltemade here now that excuse is no longer relevant though.

Thiaw has a rashness that needs to be ironed out a bit. But at his best Thiaw can do nearly everything Guehi can do + a beast in the air. Worth noting Guehi has looked dreadful against us a couple of times at SJP. Been done for strength and positioning numerous times. Not even on about the own goals, either. Where Guehi comes into his own, is his distribution off both feet. Criminally underrated when it comes to his passing. Possibly the best in the league? Intangibles.

Vinny Green Balls
Gullitt at his peak would have been an all time great in pretty much every position. Just an incredible footballer. Incredible that he played with van Basten, Baresi, Maldini, and Rijkaard. Unbelievable team of all time greats.
