Asked if he had spoken to Guehi personally, Parish replied: “Marc Guehi is as decent human being and footballer as you could ever possibly hope to meet. We all know the situation, we don’t need to be having discussions about it.

“Marc is absolutely loyal to Crystal Palace. Marc wants to progress his career, of course he does, and if the right opportunity is there and it’s right for us I think it’s something he might be interested in but he’s certainly not putting any pressure on the club whatsoever.”

Chalobah feels like a great option for where we're at and would likely preserve some budget for RW.

Not a bad shout lad he'd be reasonably cheap you'd think with him been banished to the u21s

We don't need to make it back though, sell at right point and helps PSR surely, or you accept a player can elevate you and make money from being a better team

Yeah we would he's young we could easily look to sell in the future when we have grown as a club. And the price would be nothing close to what we paid. He'd be on crazy money aswell.

If we did bring Guehi in for say 65 million. we'd not make that back I can tell you in the future if we'd looked to sell.

I’d hate it for us if we got a class center half for 10 years but couldn’t resell him for the buying price. Just absolutely gutted. Shouldn’t even do deals if you can’t recoup the full purchase price imo.

For him to come out in the press like this, you'd imagine the third bid fell into what he personally felt was "taking the piss" territory.

Reading between the lines, it seems like they've set a very specific price and we've thought pressure from the player's camp would allow us to haggle them down. It seems like that this isn't the case and they literally just want the specific price.

Club have to act fast and either pay up or walk away.

Feels like to me theirs a need for 1 player to be a big talent, a top draw purple starting 12 or whatever you want to call it. This window was meant to be transformative, and while I’m not against any of the work done so far and agree with a lot of it, it still feels lacking

No we don't, need to build the squad and team, if he helps us get champions league and keeps us right side of league then it pays for itself over time. We can't not pay for decent players just because of sell on alone. Need to look at total ROI. PSR important aspect but seems a worthwhile investment.

Still have c.2 weeks to go. I think there will be a league wide trolley dash by the last week that gets everything moving.

Everytime you buy unless it's a star player like Bellingham etc you look at long term with recouping close to what you payed for players. As we grow a lot of these players will be moved on.

He's 24 though, we could get 4 good years out of him and still sell at a very decent price even if we didn't recoup all of it. You have to think of the value he'd provide as a player during that time as well.
