By all accounts he's still employed at the club. I don't know how if Mitchell has left and it was actually Eales who was the one suffering ill health.

Don't want to diss on a man in his condition, but he has been a disastrous appointment. Most of our problems stem to this decision.

What complete bollocks with literally no evidence to back up your claim! Tragic

Penfold did a better job then this charlatan, someone should have taken over his role once his health issues became public as hes been asleep at the wheel. However, it feels like the cartel 6 somehow got him into this club to sabotage and destabilise it. Prime examples are him putting everyone up for sale, getting mandy out, then getting in his kinnear 2.0 in getting mitchell in to course chaos with the players/staff/eddie/etc

It's not just that is it. He hasn't achieved anything during his tenure.

A guy who was billed as not an empty suit has turned out to be just that.

I realise how obviously baiting this post is but I was thinking yesterday how much Charnley and Ashley would have absolutely loved PSR. A licence to spend fuck all and try and exist in the bottom half of the league each year. As frustrating as this window has been we’re miles away from that version of a club now.

PSR was in when Ashley was here.

we have as a club though, and that’s his ‘tenure’, regardless of what you think of him.

I'm not sure what your point is? We have a club because of him?

Eh?

We’ve progressed massively as a club,  with him as CEO. That’s just a fact. How much of that is down to him we’ll never know, but that’s how it is.

We feel even more rudderless now he isn’t here imo, which suggests he had some impact.

But anyway, I don’t feel great having a conversation about how well someone with cancer (who’s had it for at least a third of his time here) has/hasn’t done. He’s rightly got bigger fish to fry.

So I’ll bow out of this one.

I think all of the important stuff had been kicked down the road, his impact is low.

That being said I respect the stance and will leave it.

There's plenty of evidence to back up the claim - but everything you post seems to just be insults with zero substance

Well show me how e has been a disatrous appointment? Everything is not down to one individual and as for everything i post "seems" to be insults well once again as people keep saying on here we are all entitled to our opinion?

You are entitled to your opinion - I just don’t think you need to have a pop when doing it.

To date, Eales was CEO when we ballsed up PSR last season, made a disastrous DoF appointment, caused dressing room unrest with his ‘everyone is for sale’ crack, has since then maintained a culture of silence and lack of communication with the support, has got nowhere with the stadium / training ground, has failed to give the club a meaningful voice at PL meetings, has done little to counter the PSR/ commercial issues hamstringing the club …

there are others, but they’re the salient ones for me.  Is that enough, given he was only active for less than two years?

Mitchell was his appointment and he knew all about him as they had worked together previously. I don't even have an axe to grind with Mitchell, or Eales for that matter. I can understand the direction they were trying to go after the PSR debacle led to us having to sell two young players to balance the books.

But at the end of the day we ended up stuck between two stools. Howe's vision which was backed by Staveley, and Eales "Mind the Budget" vision which has led to three transfer windows in limbo. If we were going to back Howe, then Eales should have got someone in to do his/Mitchell's job. Instead we have Mitchell jumping ship right at the start of the transfer window. It's been terribly managed, and Eales was still on the job as far as I know, regardless of whether he was fit to do it.

It’s difficult to just his tenure as a whole tbh when we probably can’t see a lot of what he has done and some might not have come to fruition yet. We also don’t know how handicapped he was, or not, from above either.

The Mitchell appointment has been a disaster though, not much doubt about it. That said, I do wonder what kind of DoF would come in playing second fiddle to the team manager. It’s generally supposed to be the other way round.

He has an awful illness and I wish the best for his health but I never warmed to him, always seemed a bit smarmy to me, a bit of a Del Boy who set the tone with his cringe ‘mackem in Milan’ comment made at the CL draw. Then you’ve got the Mitchell appointment, recent transfer windows, putting ticket prices up regardless of fan concern and his role in the current mess.
