It's always us that a new striker gets off the mark against Solanke is injured for the first time in a million years after one game with us. Richarlison is always injured and magically got injured again in training. Our U21 striker who was going to back them both up got injured in the EFL Trophy. Plus ça change. Any supporter taking any of this out on the team wants chucking in the sea, tbh. Frankly I don't think there's any need at all for any public angst in any case; we've bought shitloads of great players since the takeover, and we're generally just lightyears away from the disdainful shitshow of a club of three years ago. There's also the important point that we've actually started the season well and can give ourselves a canny foundation going into the international break with another win. Hopefully there's some acceptance that things just aren't going to go as planned all of the time and we can all just move on like adults.

He’s useless as a focal point or if you need to hold the ball up. Good at pressing and on the break. Solanke being out is the real shitter.
Kanji
If any fan there wants to make a showing of their transfer window displeasure you can go fuck off. and if you’re on the forum and you do that, grow a pair and please also identify yourself so I can tell you to fuck off here too. Kanji
Carry on with the emotions guys. The seasons only just begun, go and groan at any little mistake. The lads on the pitch you do or don’t care about will surely appreciate the sentiments as they try to win a football match and do their job you think they are incapable of doing. The crowd didn't say boo to a goose for years under Ashley, the vast majority are still there now, if they choose now to become frustrated then we really did deserve everything we had for 14 years. They did. They can move aside for those of us who actually have a functioning brain, show an ounce of respect and can take a step back and just accept it didn’t work out as planned for one window. Whether you bemoan a lack of excitement or an increased sense of frustration, they're inevitable after a window like that where, by your own admission, looking on the bright side means looking at other windows and remembering the Ashley era. Human psychology 101 but in situations like that where you need the natural feel good energy of a crowd, positive reinforcement trumps gratitude and comparative framing, every time. Howe himself understands that our crowd needs to be nurtured into backing them, so hopefully they can do that and put this shambles of a window in everyone's rear view mirror as quickly as possible. TRC
I think Howe should start Tonali just to get the crowd up for this.
Geordie Boyo
Barnes Isak Gordon Joe Bruno Tonali Hall Burn Krafth Tripps Pope For me, but the likelihood is Miggy or Murphy on the right, Gordon left and Longstaff in ahead of Tonali… Miley, Botman, Wilson and Willock to come back. Not a bad squad providing everyone stays fit for the majority.

Geordie Boyo
Possibly - apart from the situation on the right and Botman out, we don’t exactly have any crisis, but an improved squad with the options we have and hopefully will have soon.
Displayname
Desperate to get a win here. Our team thrives on confidence and implodes without it. Really afraid we are going to get a reality check than with set the tone for the season.
CheikBoom
No negativity here. Sandro back, full throttle & into these. their ridiculously high line is something we could & should exploit. 3-1. Isak, Gordon & Kelly

BoSelecta
I’ve convinced myself he’ll start Tonali and change him on the hour. He played too well against Forest to leave him on the bench.

KI you know I respect you mate but I honestly dunno what you're on about here. Any spectator giving the people in front of them anything other than a usual/greater level of support on Sunday - by virtue of the transfer window - is a fucking wanker. A lot will depend on the game itself, obviously, but if we go behind, anyone that gets OTT angsty/protesty, or turns their back on the side, wants shooting into the sun. The team and coach deserves far better than that. Hopefully we'll play really well and it'll be a moot point.
