I’m sure many on here or in fanbase in general fawn over Ginola rather than Robert as easier on the eye. However I’d have Robert over Ginola everyday of the week and I think his figures would back that up. Charles Nzogbia has more than twice the number of goals for Newcastle that Ginola has, so I’d bloody hope so

The Prophet
So given we return for targets, is it fair to assume Trafford, Guehi, Elanga and Pedro are our top targets in each position, prices permitting?

I think they’re going to find it a lot harder going next season. Weren't they the biggest overachievers last season in terms of expected goal difference / expected points? No team repeats that for 2 seasons running, it's just not sustainable. I'd be amazed if they're anywhere near challenging top 4/5 next season

However iirc when we signed Robert I think he had either a goal or assist in each of his first 12-14+ games or thereabouts. That plateaued admittedly somewhat but it’s a reminder what a great impact Robert had on the team (along with Bellamy of course).

LFEE
Eze (although I’m in the minority and not a massive fan either despite ability) is available for £60m. Elanga for £40-45m fair. £45+£5m would be the sensible upper limit you’d like to think.

Carried the team for long periods in the first two thirds of the season. Taking away the intangibles, there’s no valid argument that Ginola was better than Robert. Skeletor
£45m rejected without counter is time to move on. They're within their right to want silly money for him, but at the same time we need to be sensible too.

Elliottman
Consensus on the Forrest board I’ve just been on suggests he’ll go for £60 million which they’d be satisfied with - but not happy. Seem to love him although got off to a slow start to the season.
