Willock is another with2 years left. We need to make a decision about keeping him or selling him this summer.

Joelinton was out for a prolonged period, that isn't likely to happen again.

Sure about that? He must have missed close to 40 games the last two seasons.

Joelinton was out for a prolonged period, that isn't likely to happen again. He's the only CM who is difficult to swap out, Joe Willock is the best fit replacement. You could argue he didn't shine last season, but he's done well previously in that role. In any case, he could be sold and we could use that money to buy a midfielder.

He's missed 30%+ of the last few seasons I am sure

He's a year older and his style of play is entirely dependent on his physical levels being high / not dropping

Tin hat on, but he isn't the most consistent player. I recall many times over the past few years where everyone complains about him having subpar performances, then he has a run of form as is back to everyone's favourite / most important player

Big if, hasn’t played well for 2 seasons.

He’s still our best at carrying the ball when considering both strength and pace. Hopefully this season will be his redemption arc.

He carried on playing a lot through pain iirc. I am assuming given some rest he will have recovered fully and should be good to go a full campaign this time. We did abuse his willingness to play through the pain barrier IMO.

For a team like Crystal Palace, aye.

Can’t gamble on Joelinton, Tonali and Bruno being fully fit and sharp for 60 games.  Not even + JP. We need another genuine option even if proper backup.

Willock is done here.  Howe doesn’t trust him or Longstaff.

If Howe wants a midfielder ahead of a GK then we'll sign one. I'm not convinced you are on the same page as Howe though.

Good watch! Thought it was interesting that he spent 8 months specifically training his left foot shooting

Seems like a very intelligent and hard-working lad.

He’s also fluent in Swedish, English, French and Spanish. Can speak Afrikaans and Portuguese, and is currently learning Mandarin.

That’s how our Jacob Murphy debate started… [emoji38]

I always hope for a redemption arc, just saying based on what I’ve seen.

I can’t see us moving on Willock and Longstaff anyway, so of the two I’d rather get rid of Sean.

Ahhh I like Willock ya know. Not bad when given a run of games, nice and direct and still cream my pants when I think about that ball vs Spurs. He’s got a terrible injury record granted but I’d keep him for another year. Be useful with the extra games.

I've liked Elanga for a while now. Mainly due to his personality and attitude. Think he'd fit right in here and would improve, as the desire is there.

Personally think £45m is a good deal for Elanga, hes not worth any more than that.

What would people say the price we should walk away at is as we cant keep buying players at premium price because all it will do is limit us and or expedite the sale of a purple like Bruno, Gorson, Isak to rebuild, similar to what Villa dis when they sold Grealish.

I think he’s always running at 90% with fear of doing his hammys again.

Just don’t rate him, nothing personal.

I did previously at points but I think the injuries have taken the toll on him or something isn't right. That pass from him again spurs for Isak a couple of years ago was phenomenal. One of the best assists I've ever seen. He also kept us up when on loan from arsenal that year as well.

But in general too inconsistent and we can probably get a few for him at the moment to West Ham

Just seen we’ve uploaded a video of all Murphy G/A from this season. Probably say it’s a timely upload to remind of what Elanga has to match next season :D

Wondered exactly that too !

That assist was world class. You don't do that if you haven't got something about you. Injuries have done him unfortunately and needs a good run of games to get back to that level. He won't get that here, not now.

He was generally causing hammock for defenders that season, especially in the second half of the season. Lightning quick, even with the ball at his feet. He doesn't seem to have the same explosiveness anymore. Achilles injuries can be a nightmare.
