Hmm, I get your point but we did play very well in the first half. Which is what everyone was waiting for. Just let in a soft goal and then the second half became very frustrating.

Said before this game that the next week or so had the potential to very grim. Get knocked out the cup by Chelsea and lose to Arsenal is very possible.

I see what you're saying but that's still not indicative of a good season - play well for a half, go in 1-0 down then struggle throughout the second half.

Our xG (yes I know, xG blah blah) was under two. It was only about 0.3 better than theirs. It's not as if we had one clear cut chance after another.

Goals do, and we're missing the chances, and some of them are on the easier side as well.

Lack of final ball/quality cost us today. That cutting edge would have seen us at least equalise and possibly go into the break one up.

I thought Isak was as poor as he's ever been for us. Movement off the ball was lacking. Gordon's finishing is off the boil. Barnes wasn't great when he came on but he must be scratching his head as to why Jacob Murphy starts ahead of him. Lewis Hall and Dan Burn (who's been our player of the season) were excellent I thought.

All in all though, we look somewhat languid and bereft of ideas. Like the squad needs a jolt and something fresh. That's what you get when you don't improve the first XI for two windows in a row. Howe and the players have been hung out to dry somewhat im afraid.

On a side note I thought Baleba was brilliant for them. 20 year old and absolutely bossed the midfield.

don’t watch a lot of football then?

Every game this season bar City at SJP, same idea of passing around instead of shooting - when we aren't passing back.

Isak doesn't look fit, looks like we gambled. God knows how many chances Gordon messed up (although was making a lot of chances for us will admit).

It was anything but gutless as you described it, it was lacking final product, a cutting edge. The commitment and effort was there, the performance was actually very good for the most part. It wasn’t gutless.

Can you trust our recruitment to properly replace them. The problem is if Bruno keeps playing poorly it will start to get noticed by other teams and he will be sold for nout. Which player would actually make that much of a profit if we keep playing poorly. Unless we sell Miley.

Why do you have the same IP address as maggies?

That’s where xG should only really be used as a guide, though. Gordon inexplicably taking that shot so early won’t have had a high xG. But it could/should have been a brilliant chance.

I bet his header was quite low and all. But that was a glaring miss.

Isak seemed to have 2-3 chances that probably ended up as 0.00. As he just dillied and dallied until the chance had gone. His 1 on 1 was almost automatic last season. So again, you’re fully expecting that to go in and fuck what xG says in that instance

Outside of that, it was a lot of huff and puff, bad final balls, close to getting on the end of stuff etc. So wouldn’t really show up.

We had enough decent chances and opportunities to score 3-4 today and the fact we didn’t even get 1 is baffling. Not world class saves or anything. Just abysmal finishing.

That's not absolutely gutless is it? Now, Brentford away in the QF under Bruce, that was gutless, you and i could probably name at least a dozen each under Bruce the same.

Today was as far from absolutely gutless as it could get, disappointing and wasteful aye. Sorry, just noticed you did say making a lot of chances.

There's too many of our top players just not performing this season. The question needs to be asked as to why?

I don't think today was too bad and we've had the chances to win the game but we're really struggling to find the net this season due to our out of form players. It's really frustrating

Wow that’s just weird, looking up peoples IP address on an internet forum.
Why would you feel the need too?

It's the intolerance of negativity isn't it, to accuse all the negative newcomers as being one and the same.

Personally i like to explain why they're wrong, even if i was talking to same person. Well until I'm wrong in the end i guess.

Weird one that one. Felt like we were completely in control for the vast majority of the game, with 3 or 4 really good chances… somehow managed to miss them all. Brighton had 1 (or maybe two) moments all game, and win.

Really frustrating but we played pretty well I thought.

Does it really matter? We could have played another half an hour and not scored.

The changes we made were more beneficial to Brighton than any that they made themselves

Absolutely gutless performance. Same shit, different week.

I thought it was our best performance by far this season.  The first 25 minutes we absolutely blew them away.  And then ...... sucker punch.  If I really had to have a go at some of our players (I hate slagging off our team) then the worst culprits are our "star players".  The two Brazilians and Isak were poor today.

Agreed on Bruno and Isak, but I thought Big Jo was really good.

We were unlucky to not get a goal or two in the first half, their keeper was excellent tbf. Just one of those days, deserved more.

Their goal deffo took the wind out of our sails and they were able to play keep ball and frustrate us. We just didnt have the same gusto in the second half although we tried. Subs did nothing and made us disjointed i thought.

A clear problem for me is the lack of a plan B, we have no other way of playing just full out fast pressing and vertical footy at 100 miles per hour.
