At best he's a glass hammer. Very good player when he's up to speed but with a lower immunity to injury than the boy in the wicker chair in The Secret Garden.

Can only be an E at this point unfortunately.

I get the feeling you boys are going to be unnecessarily harsh on Wilson because of how good Isak is. He probably feels a lot worse than what he actually is because of how big the downgrade is.

It's going to be funny to see how bad we rate our own squad while complaining how much better we should be doing.

In reality Isak is the only player we have that everyone actually likes. Maybe Hall too.

Wilson is imo the best striker we had in the Ashley-era. A genuinely brilliant striker at his best, but even then always susceptable to injury. The problem now is that the injuries have gone beyond the point of it still being worth keeping him and since he's been back after this most recent layoff he's looked a shadow of the player he was, with a real lack of pace. At his best, with no injury woes he'd have been a B, he was a brilliant striker.

Heartbreaking this one.  I’m oscillating between a D and an E.  I’m going to go with E.

Damn shame, superb CF for most of his NUFC career.  Yes, he was injury-plagued - but a regularly fit Wilson doesn’t sign for Ashley’s NUFC in any case.

Still love the lad - I think he wore the no.9 with distinction for most of it (and he was the no.9 even when he wore 13).

Never really warmed to him because of when he signed and who he signed for, similar with Willock. Listening to his podcast weekly didn't do my opinion of him any favours, either. Won't be at all sad to see the back of him this summer. He's still got the chance to go out on a high, mind.

I think the first XI is going to come out pretty well tbh - and I’m not sure how many on here would swap our squad for Bournemouth, Forest or Fulham’s.

What was his podcast like?

He just came across like an insecure/arrogant whopper mostly, while Antonio seemed pretty sound and down to earth, if a bit thick.

Mind, if I looked like Wilson AND wore the NUFC no.9 shirt then I’d be more in love with myself than a coked-up pop star

time for him to lock himself in the study with a bottle of scotch and a revolver with one bullet in it tbh

He’d need more than one bullet these days, sadly - I wouldn’t trust him to hit the target with one effort

E - Not good enough either by virtue of general ability or being past their prime, is the definition of an E. It's not based on general ability, even though being past his prime through injuries has also affected his general ability.

If a player isn't available for a significant chunk of games it also means his general ability doesn't even matter most of the time. Not just saying this because we lost last night either - was just thinking the immediate effect of a loss might lead to everyone going down a grade on any player. [emoji38]

He’s finished, it’s nothing to do with lack of talent, he used to be a very good striker.
