Newcastle United 0-1 Everton (25/05/25)

We need to be light hearted about the champion’s league next season as supporters and realise that every bit of it is a bonus rather than another thing to piss and moan about. This is fucking dreamland.
obviously Eddie and the chaps are not allowed to be light hearted about it.

I agree to a point. This season though, seeing Forest come out of nowhere and almost qualify and Spurs now finishing 17th and also qualifying, add to that Villa very nearly getting it twice in a row. It felt far more unfair if we weren't to get it.

I remember us under Gordon Lee and Bill McGarry. And it reminds me of the importance of not turning into a bunch of entitled fuckers. That way leads to ending up like them fucking Arsenal bellends on YouTube. Not for me.

IMO we need more Eddie Howe hyper press players.  We need to be able to lose one of the midfield big 3 and have another warrior step in.

We need players who can use the ball in tight areas against a low block.

Fuck the result today, it does not matter. No point thinking about it. Brilliant season with limited resources and luck fell our way today.

Enjoy the summer and hopefully we come back with a much stronger squad.

We're lacking a maverick badly. Someone that would have thrived today. Oh no Howe needs runners blah blah blah. He doesn't have to be a starter but an option off the bench ala ASM would be perfect for next season.

Today proved that anything can happen in the last day of the season, as players lets the nerves and stress get the better of them, while "on the beach" teams does not have this pressure over them. I felt as if we were stressing a bit too much offensively, and that led to so many misplaced passes and counter attacks. We need to show a bit more composure in the biggest games next season, like we did in the final.

Our form has dropped ever since Joelinton got injured, and we haven't looked convincing in a while, but luckily we still got there. Can't wait to get all the players back fit and firing for the next season. Ultimately over the course of a season we got 66 points, which is quite normal for 5th place. Can't say we didn't deserve it, despite todays showing (although we played pretty well after their goal).

We just buckled today. Sometimes it happens. We lucked out and it didn’t matter. No real relevance to be taken at all from the game - we made it, so fuck it!

Thought Ndiaye looked good again for them today

He'd worth a punt for someone

I'd buy Pickford just so that we don't have to play against the cunt again.

We didn’t get out of jail, we set a target that the chasing clubs couldn’t reach.

Villa had a perfectly good goal chalked off, we didn't turn up.  I'd say we got out of jail.  Shows how big a point it was against Brighton.

The one thing you want to avoid against a Moyes team and Pickford is letting them get that grit between their teeth. They can hunker down and see it out. Pretty much stopped watching for the last 20. We had nothing to give

Yous must have missed Beto's two absolutely laughable efforts from the centre of the goal. Being physical is one thing...

His finishing left a lot of be desired but he pretty much won every ball in the air
