I can see maths! But even when we lose it's not usually by many. Obviously it won't matter anyway because Spurs won't get enough points, I'm just saying it's valuable in theory. We may still get 1-2 points in the remaining 4 games.

They are just 2/1 to win, its not like they are 6 or 7/1. Villa are not odds on, so it's more likely Spurs get something than not. Granted we are shorter than that to beat Brighton, and if we at least match Spurs result then all should be fine, but if it is 5 points after a 5th defeat in a row and back to back wins for Spurs then the picture will look a lot different. Villa are pretty much guaranteed Champions League football, very little difference between 4th and 5th and they have a much bigger match 4 days later... So using your permeable, spurs would need to win 4 games score 9 and keep 4 clean sheets to finish above us. where we win 1 game, with 1 goal difference. I’ll leave it at that, cause your clearly not looking at this logically. It’s been an awful season and pre season and the sooner it ends the better. If we win a game I am sure we will be safe, but what you said is not correct. if we win one game and lose the other three then our goal difference will almost certainly get worse, so Tottenham would not need to make up 9 goals or even six. But GD would not matter in this scenario anyway. Edited May 1 by 1881

Paullow
Yep, if Villa are not odds on to win then Spurs are automatically more likely, betting wise, to get something out of the game. The Spurs 'Double Chance' (win or draw) odds are 4/6 or 8/13, meaning it's more likely they avoid defeat than Villa (23/20) win. It's nothing like as tough a match on paper as it was a few weeks ago where Spurs may have been circa 5/1. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did get something, I just hope we are not only 5 clear come Sunday evening.

One way or another there's a decent chance everyone will feel a lot more comfortable by Sunday evening, either through us getting something or Villa pasting Spurs. 1881
I suppose what I am trying to say as we should not underestimate the situation- all the other clubs - at the current time - are managing to galvanise themselves into a realistic but positive mindset with their fans and players pulling in the same direction. We need to do the same thing. Fans need to support, players need to get their act together and management need to find a safe passage. The manager is trying sure but it's yet to be seen if the players respond.
