1 - who is “they”

2 - what are “loses” ?

We can’t rely on our goal difference as it will keep getting worse if we keep losing! Don’t understand why people can’t see this!

I can see maths!

But even when we lose it's not usually by many.

Obviously it won't matter anyway because Spurs won't get enough points, I'm just saying it's valuable in theory.

My gut feeling: 16th, we'll finish below Leeds & Forest

West Ham & Tottenham will grab a few more points each but not enough to catch us up. We may still get 1-2 points in the remaining 4 games.

Might not tomorrow.

Brighton. Welbeck.

Usually a bad combo... 😅

I'm glad Spurs have some tricky games, that's all I'm saying.

Also our GD is worth an extra point over Spurs and Ham anyway.

Who are this Ham you speak of ?

West Ham

West ‘am

The ‘ammers

The Irons

Never in my entire life have I heard them referred to as Ham.

And my lasses family are cockney sparras.

One win in 2026 Spurs away to fifth place CL chasing Aston Villa is not "Very winnable"

Not saying they can't because.. well, football, but it would be a very shock result.

They are just 2/1 to win, its not like they are 6 or 7/1. Villa are not odds on, so it's more likely Spurs get something than not.

Granted we are shorter than that to beat Brighton, and if we at least match Spurs result then all should be fine, but if it is 5 points after a 5th defeat in a row and back to back wins for Spurs then the picture will look a lot different.

Villa are pretty much guaranteed Champions League football, very little difference between 4th and 5th and they have a much bigger match 4 days later...

Sorry. Wasn’t meaning to be rude, but our GD is only six better than theirs. The quote from Steven Taylor “sleepwalking to relegation” is a bit too close to the situation at the moment.

Bruno is back.

He'll wake them up!

I didn’t say that - of course I have hope we will get more points, but we should not be assuming the teams below us will need one more point than us.

So using your permeable, spurs would need to win 4 games score 9 and keep 4 clean sheets to finish above us. where we win 1 game,  with 1 goal difference.

I’ll leave it at that, cause your clearly not looking at this logically.

It’s been an awful season and pre season and the sooner it ends the better.

What if the alternative was Pep and his entire back room staff.

People would be like “Eddie Who?”

There'd be fucking hell on if Pep made a substitution on the 65th minute

If we win a game I am sure we will be safe, but what you said is not correct.

if we win one game and lose the other three then our goal difference will almost certainly get worse, so Tottenham would not need to make up 9 goals or even six. But GD would not matter in this scenario anyway.

Not if we win 3-0 and lose the three 0-1

That is why I said almost certainly,

Yep, if Villa are not odds on to win then Spurs are automatically more likely, betting wise, to get something out of the game. The Spurs 'Double Chance' (win or draw) odds are 4/6 or 8/13, meaning it's more likely they avoid defeat than Villa (23/20) win.

It's nothing like as tough a match on paper as it was a few weeks ago where Spurs may have been circa 5/1. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they did get something, I just hope we are not only 5 clear come Sunday evening.

Aye, hopefully for once we keep him quiet. One way or another there's a decent chance everyone will feel a lot more comfortable by Sunday evening, either through us getting something or Villa pasting Spurs.

If it was NUFC in their position, how much positivity do you think there'd be on here?

I suppose what I am trying to say as we should not underestimate the situation- all the other clubs - at the current time - are managing to galvanise themselves into a realistic but positive mindset with their fans and players pulling in the same direction. We need to do the same thing. Fans need to support, players need to get their act together and management need to find a safe passage.

How are Spurs galvanised exactly?

The manager is trying sure but it's yet to be seen if the players respond.
