I agree but we can't keep hanging  around for Brentford to do their business. At which point do you walk away? We need to give ourselves two weeks to find an alternative.

Because there's only three weeks left and we need to find a replacement for Wilson. There are too many variables beyond our control to let this go on for much longer before looking elsewhere. 

 

You only let these type of signings go down to the wire if you're prepared to go with what you have if the deal doesn't go through. We're not in that position. 

 

Three weeks left, when would you look elsewhere?

Yeah exactly. The number of things that need sorting for any major deal means its less and less likely with a shorter timeline.

We'll have to pivot soon if there's no progress.

But the point is how long until you go after another option, taking it up to the deadline is pretty reckless.

No idea if it would work but we may be in the position of starting the chain off ourselves by offering Brentford a couple of mill extra to get the Wissa deal done. They'll then be able to do similar for Bournemouth to get Ouattara who then pass it on and everyone gets the striker they want down the line. I just think it's getting to the stage where a couple of million to get it done in the next day or 2 is actually worth it. We're woefully short in that area of the park but Wissa coming in before Villa gives us way more options

OK, I'll ask another way. Time wise, when would you go with plan B or C? If those players are available then they could go elsewhere as we wait so we might end up with plan D or E. 

 

I'd love Wissa to come but we can't wait much longer.

I don't know timewise. The club will know better than you or I. If the club decides to move to the next on the list, then that's the time to do so.

We do but looks like we dont have that luxury anymore. With the pool of strikers we are after there is a knock on effect. Wissa > Brentford > Bournemouth > maybe more..

 

Jackson is probably an outlier we can get in quicker if we can agree on a price. I dont think he is our priority though.

 

Feels like our business will drag up to the deadline week and day.
