I think Barnes has been better and deserved the start ahead of Gordon. That would be probably the only gripe with the 11, along with maybe Elanga, although he played OK against Burnley.

Gordon has a higher ceiling to Barnes for me and has started to improve. Really need to build on that and get him consistently at his best.

Agree it’s harsh on Barnes though but I get it

But when they play at ours, they tend to play in red and white tops but with white shorts.

Why can they do that, but not us? Or am I entirely misremembering their strip at our place?

Seems like we always have to play in our away strip there, but they can just change shorts at our place.

Must be a new rule if that's the case because both teams have played in their home strips at the away fixture during the Premier League. Also played in their away tops also mind.

Just got to keep our heads and concentration levels at 100%. We have better players and if we play to our strengths then we will be fine. Lose concentration and our heads and we'll lose.

I think we can definitely win the battle in open play. My one big doubt is how we will handle set pieces, and Ramsdale's handling of corners hasn't exactly inspired confidence. I trust Howe will have addressed this specifically for this game though, so we should manage it.

Plus Gordon has more pace. Elanga and Gordon will stop the filthy mackems from pressing too hard in case we win the ball and rape them on the counter.

Is now a good time to mention that I had a dream last night it was 1-1 in the 90th minute but Sunderland had a corner and we had John Ruddy in goal? I don't know what happened next as my son woke me up telling me that he pissed the bed. Which is very apt.

Aye, i just not seeing from Gordon what he showed again Benfica in the Premier League, it's cut back to try and shoot, loses the ball and then it's rinse and repeat.

Obviously i hope that stuffed down my throat today and he's mint.
