[LCQF] Newcastle United vs. Fulham: 17/12/25 @ 20:15 (Sky Sports/ITV)

The way this season is going, I can't see us beating Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City or even Palace over two legs so can't say I'd be devastated if we lost tonight as I don't have the same belief that we can win the whole thing again.

I see your point but we have to win this game like. The pressure will ratchet quickly if we performed like we did against the mackems tonight.

WTF is wrong with people? Last season. We beat Forest away, City, Chelsea, Brentford, Arsenal 4-0 over 2 legs and then outplayed the champions in the final.

But because we’re having a bit of an inconsistent run and not playing our best. Losing tonight might not be a bad thing?!

Absolute bollocks. You play to win.

Would be a lot more confident of doing the same if one of the strikers was in an Isak-type run of form mind.

I’m not sure many thought we’d beat Arsenal 4-0 over 2 legs. Isak or not. The same for the final. Did anyone predict us outplaying Liverpool for 85-90 minutes?

More of this please 👏👏👏

Got tickets and we're looking forward to it.

Absolutely no reason we can't beat these and then we're in the Semis, again.

Sort yourselves out, you fannies.

It's not a bit of a inconsistent run is probably why people are feeling less than confident. Most people feel we've regressed as a team, we aren't that team that won the cup and which used to smash teams with a high press, we are something else.

Agree on your last point, you do indeed play to win. It's a shame that point got lost in translate at the SOS.

So fucking what? You support the team through the good and bad. Don’t bother getting into the semis because we’ve been a bit crap this season?

Are we just assuming these bad performances will continue for the foreseeable and all? Why not just get into the semis and then see. Anything can happen.

Bunch of absolute melts.

Nah, I wouldn't be calling people melts because they have a different view to myself ultimately it's about priorities right.

Some may feel going out in the semis is a worst choice than not having to play those extra games especially coanfiering the extra 2 champions leagues we will have to play.

Ultimately it's about ideas and opinions my preference when I'm rational is too tackle the idea not the person.

Tldr I see both sides ;)

Cmon, your a good poster and I know your not insulting me but this place is much better when personal insults are kept for those who truly deserve it. The ethnic cleanser denier we had a few months back comes to mind.

No Leo Shahar for the U18s v Pompey or U21s last night v Halifax. Suggests he’s with the squad tonight.

Tino definitely needs a rest like. I know everything looked off on Sunday, but his physical levels looked one of the most obvious to me.

He was flagging after half an hour.

There was a point in the second half when one of their players dragged it back and ran him down the line with ease. That never happens to him, even when he’s up against elite opposition, never mind what he faced on Sunday.

Can we win the league - no

Can we win the league cup - good chance

Can we win the champions league - almost certainly not

Can we win the FA cup - possibly

Can we finish high enough in the league to qualify for Europe - possibly

So tonight means shitloads. Up there with one of the most important games we'll play this season.

If we're not chomping at the bit both on the pitch and in the stands tonight, then there's something seriously wrong with our team and the fans.

We need to be like rabid dogs.

I remember the exact moment your referring to because I muttered to myself "what the fuck am I watching"

Is everyone ok? Feel like the mood is so downbeat. We've had shit spells before under Howe and he's always turned it around. I'm excited about tonight, I'm excited about potentially retaining a Cup. Think we all need a dose of Vitamin D and a quick look back at cup performances pre-2020.
