Everton didn’t manage to break down their low block on Saturday. If we turn up playing like we’ve done in too many away games this season we won’t either.
 

Hopefully Eddie will finally make some much needed changes for this one. Hopefully starting both Wissa and Woltemade.

Aye, it's usually a pretty direct link that wage bill = league position, and the NUFC of the last few years is one of very few outliers. Must be a shit manager at fault for that.

In the past half a dozen seasons, the following managers have won European trophies:

 

Moyes

Mourinho 

Postecoglu 

Glasner

Sarri

Maresca

 

Out of all of those, there’s only Glasner that you could have a serious conversation about potentially being better than Howe as things stand.
 

There’s absolutely no reason at all why he couldn’t win us a European trophy. In fact, if we qualified for the Europa League or Conference League, we’d more than likely be favourites to win the whole thing.

 

3 months ago a large proportion of our fanbase wouldn’t have swapped Eddie for Emery.

I think another manager can get us higher than 14th and playing a lot better for starters.

Well Howe did it last season. We had 2nd within our sights right until the last couple of games. 


Oh and he won a cup last season too. 
 

Oh and Emery has already rejected the NUFC job when offered it in the past.

If only it was two months. Unfortunately it's nearer 55 years of mostly under performing memories with two highlights including winning the cup this year. For the size of the club we have under performed since the mid 1950's, sorry for wanting a little bit more than that.

I actually think people forget very easily/fast. If you actually remember how it was during the Steve Bruce days, you're not trigger happy now.

Probably the wrong thread for this and for the record I hope Howe stays until he decides he wants to go and considering the man's integrity, I don't think he will hang around if he does not feel he is able to progress the team. So he has my full support and I am looking for him to show he is dealing our issues, starting tonight.

 

Where do we have to be before Howe is at serious risk of losing his job?

 

Let's say our away form continues like it has, we go out of all cups and dont qualify for next stage of CL and we flirt with relegation ultimately finish 14th in the league? Do our owners accept this as a once off and back him in the summer window? or do they start having doubts?

Show that he can tactically evolve away from a 433, stop relying on Tindall and Jones and implement some new ideas and tactics, stop buying players like Ramsey, Elanga and Ramsdale who don't improve us at all. Get rid of the dead wood when they can still be sold for more than peanuts, play two strikers together at least once, find a way to get Woltemade more involved and productive, hammer the mackems at SJP, teach Gordon how to shoot, teach Livramento how to cross, don't play Dan Burn at LB etc. etc. Everything I've written seems reasonable to me.
