Remember a few times this season when our bench was stacked. The drop-off when we have some injuries is a mood killer.

Surely that is the case for most clubs excluding Chelsea who seem to just buy players to turn them over for profit.

I think Pope coming back in is just about the right call, but I probably wouldn't have criticised either decision (on brand I know). There's not much between them really.

It's good that we got to have a look at Ramsdale if only to confirm that serious investment in that position is still arguably priority number one in terms of finding an upgrade.

Just now, Sir Joel Inton said:

I was trying to think of other strikers we have turned into central midfielders and I had an awful flashback to Alan Smith.

Do we have any others?

Man Utd turned him into a midfielder and he was signed as one, only for Allardyce and - mystifyingly - Keegan to deploy him as a target man. Absolutely God awful wherever he played, mind.

Pope is a massive improvement on Ramsdale in my opinion. Clean sheet tonight.

According to Sky we are on sky tennis but it's showing tennis! 🤣

It just finished so we shall see.

Edit: just selected it again and the buildup.

Talking about Everton... 🤣

Ramsdale infinitely better with the ball at his feet, but Pope is an actual goalkeeper rather than an outfield player with a green jersey on, so I'm happy Pope's back.

Well said.

Excited to see how Wissa goes about things. Despite the unimpressed forum posts last game...I thought he looked smart and sharp.

Hattrick for the lad, today :coolsmiley:

Against the mighty Burnley... 🤣

But if it gets us an away win I'll take it! 😁

Ramsdale is really a lame duck, like. Never rated him, but was worth giving it a shot to see if he had anything left in the tank.
