Was just about to say the same thing. Barely mention of us at all never mind the disallowed goal. Just admiring the golden boys of Haaland and O'Reilly

I thought the highlights were quite bias as well - we had a lot more of the ball second half but highlights didn't seem to reflect that

Most competitive we’ve been down there in a longtime and still in the contest to the end. Looked like same old story when we went one down, but considering we played midweek in Europe can’t have many complaints.

Not sure what the possession stats are but thought we controlled the game at times. They probably did have the highlight moments on the break but impressive how we dictated play at times.

I thought Thiaw was poor defensively and we get out of shape to easily, teams are undoubtedly targeting the space behind Trippier.

I thought Woltemade connected the play well at times but in that role needs to get in the box more. It was noticeable how we didn’t keep the ball as well once Joelinton and subs came on.

I like this formation and we need to persist with it in my opinion.

We actually had more possession than them in the second half (52-48). Not that it really means anything in isolation, but it’s got to be the first time that’s been the case over a full half down there?

Was really frustrated that our subs made us worse on Saturday. They didn't bring any intensity/extra running which you'd expect from a sub getting 20-30 mins.

Thought Joelinton, Barnes, Murphy and Osula all just went through the motions

Joelinton didn't go through the motions like. He definitely put himself about and gave us a bit of bite in midfield.

They're just not the right subs to hurt a good team really. Barnes always struggles against clever and athletic defenders and Murphy was very unlikely to generate anything with his crosses. Guess we needed to freshen it up anyway but I never expected any improvement when they came on.
