Plenty of season diaries and match details already loaded for the seventies and eighties plus lots more! Toon Times Great site. Was hoping to see myself enter the field of play in the 1-3 1988 FA Cup loss to Wimbledon (my one and only--and very ineffectual--pitch invasion) after Wise (in my memory, but they were suggesting Gibson) was chasing Mira. After Mira had kung fu kicked Beasant. Can't believe I managed to clamber over the fence in the corner; it looks massive on the footage. The joys of being a 20 year old squaddie. deejeck
Gazza Found this in the garage last week, now framed and hung in the downstairs lavvy. The autograph... Bizarre experience, Gazza rocked up at the Barking Dog football field in Wallsend, supporting his local pub side who were playing the Rising Sun. Disco
My Dad had some version of 83/84 season review video that was absolutely horrific quality but I used to watch it loads as a kid. There’s a game v (I think) Charlton where it’s absolutely pissing it down and he’s on it with the bloke who lived over the road but it’s mad that I can picture some of the goals from the season better than I can games I was at. That's the one where Keegan scores twice and you can see blokes in the leazes end jumping around celebrating while holding umbrellas

Aye, it was Leazes End and he’s right down the front albeit he’d not be caught dead with an umbrella. Not a million miles away from where we used to stand (me sat on the barrier) for my first few games 92/93 n all aside from Leicester in the paddock as they had the whole end. Haven’t thought about that video for years

I recall Boro at home on my 13th birthday and the home games near the end against Derby, Carlisle and Brighton, that attack just murdered them. 92/93 was the first season I had a season ticket, Milburn paddock. Cost 127 quid, different days

I might have been there, we were having a kick about and he turned up in a sponsored Rover 214 and joined in with us for a bit. Think he was with 5 bellies. Think he was with 5 bellies. Really? Yeah, that's right. Turned up in his sponsored black Rover with Gazza written along the side plus some stuff about the supplying garage. That's a great little take about him joining in with your kick about. I was too shy to go and get his autograph so had to get my mate Gaz to go over and ask him. It was exhilarating and terrifying at the same time. I drove to Leicester for that one so didn't imbibe. Being sober made the whole experience more surreal. He grabbed me and punched me in the face, splitting my lip open. Tried to get his number but was later told the police swapped numbers on match days to avoid identification. West Yorkshire’s finest. SYP ended up with their numbers stuck on a strip to stop them juggling the numbers round, mental. Like a badge of shame. I was at the spurs FA cup game,on my own as my mate never turned up, I was at the back and the crush was horrendous, I thought they did open the side pens after a while? Loads of bother on 7 sisters road, saw a guy pick up his wife and throw her through the window of prestos, coppers gave him a right hiding. Cheap as chips to get in to the match, stunk of piss, tabs, hot dogs, BO. That was just me like. Cash on the gate with 35k in and rammed, all ticket with 35k in and loads of room, I wonder how much cash was being skimmed off?

I still remember old Sadie handing over that treasured bus ticket for an away game to somewhere ordinary like Carlisle, Huddersfield or Blackburn in the 2nd division to me, an excited teenager. The thrill and anticipation of booking to go away was so good back then. Buzzing from the moment I got that ticket. All was left was to count down the days and stock up with a 2 litre bottle of pop and a 6 pack of crisps.
