Relegation aside, the way we've used that money couldn't have gone worst. That tells me that what we did previously should be avoided at all cost. You appear to be making my point for me. You can't stop the likes of Romano getting the info as it comes from the player's side, but whoever is briefing the likes of Ryder and Edwards needs to shut the fuck up. While true, I don't think what Ryder or Edwards say has any effect on anything. It's really our fault as fans if we put any value in it.

That was the point in selling early. We've done nothing with the supposed advantage. Saying Liverpool has always been in the background is bollocks. We should treat every deal like one of those cunts is ready to swoop, so we put aggressive offers down and get it signed. Pathetic by the club once again. The project is completely finished due to board level incompetence. It’s not bollocks, it’s very likely that we were the backup option and he wasn’t going to sign until Liverpool had had their say. Aggressive offer goes down, agent lets Liverpool know about aggressive offer because they’ve also expressed an interest in the player, Liverpool want player and match or beat our offer, player still signs for Liverpool. It’s what any decent agent would do. We’re in a pecking order. It’s what the financial restrictions were designed for.
The College Dropout Posted Thursday at 09:05 Share Posted Thursday at 09:05 Is this not true? https://metro.co.uk/2025/08/25/newcastle-chiefs-turn-alexander-isaks-house-bid-resolve-transfer-saga-23996707/ We didn't plan on getting an Isak replacement. Everything I read suggested we planned to keep him. The strikers we tried to sign were Wilson replacements. Isak leaving is why we have 2 panic strikers rather than just 1. We could've activated the release clause before Iraola even signed with Liverpool. At the least we would know Munoz himself was stalling the deal 2 weeks ago, so we continue to go to other options strongly. Literally last week we were negotiating with Osasuna and Real seemingly - that's a waste of time. Liverpool did not do fee negotiations. That's an automatic advantage. Armchair Pundit Posted Thursday at 09:09 Share Posted Thursday at 09:09 (edited) It's past time the owners bit the bullet and legally challenged the anti-competition, anti-investment rigging of PSR/FFP, that's essentially the be all and end all of why this shit happens. I don't speed is an issue here. Football transfers sound really easy. Not sure why we aren't all working in that environment. Make an offer, buy a player, have lunch. I think we should have made a good offer that was still within our reach and said that either he would accept it within a few days or we would move on. This should have been done in a short time and it would have been clear what they were playing for. These things should have been handled much more professionally, quickly, decisively. If a player doesn't want to come, he should be left behind quickly.
