Really beginning to think we're going to need a DOF and Manager with strong reputations and name recognition in order to have a chance out here man.

 

Starting to feel like the club just isn't being shown any kind of respect and it's such a terrible terrible look.

 

The rest of this summer is going to be massive.

How? What are you supposed to do when the player and agent are making all the right noises?

 

Pull the plug just in case they're fibbing? The players that will make us better are of a level where they will be attracting interest from the top clubs, we can't just buckle and hoy the towel in every time they get involved

Have started feeling this way as well. As much as we love Eddie I don't see high end players chomping at the bit to play for him. And the other concern is how it seems our best players want out as well.

If this was the first or even second time I'd take the point. At this point it's looking very likely that the problem is our own gullibility for the wallet inspector and not that we were honest to God good actors who got gazumped in a situation that no one could have seen coming. This is by my count possibly coming up to double figures that this has happened.

 

You don't need to pull the plug, at the bare minimum, just don't continue to keep telling the local press that you're confident, play it down until it's done. Beyond that you can always have the insight to spot it a mile off.

There's not much can be done, but I'd like us to have more than one iron in the fire (who knows, we might be working on another deal discretely, hopefully we are.)

 

And stop briefing the bloody journalists unless it's to our advantage. Just tell them there will be an update when there's something concrete to update on.

Probably clutching at straws here but could we have been trying to impress/persuade another potential target by making a lot of noise about how we were signing Munoz and it's the club to sign for this summer etc?

Making the agreement public puts the player and agent in a position where if they renege they look like dirty snake cunts, which you'd think makes them less likely to go back on their word? I dunno. Crowing early fucked the Emery appointment so you'd have thought we'd have learned a lesson there
