Like watching in Dougies tavern years ago with metro radio commentary seconds ahead

Used to drive me crackers watching a foreign feed with Metro on full belt.  I never understood which punters just couldn’t watch the game with non-English commentary.  As if anyone is even listening to it

East Stand built with raac concrete by any chance, be a nightmare for the rest of the ground if the flask and rug brigade have to be dispersed.

It was, but it seems the amount of spilled Bovril over the years has strengthened it to the point where Leazes Terrace isn't the problem anymore...... its that the East Stand is now indestructible.

Was in the platinum on Saturday and I've noticed the receipts for the bar now show "NUFC Hospitality" rather than Sodexo that it was last season

Noticed in the barracks you can get wor beer and newcastle gin.

Always wanted some local tipple in St James' so that was pleasant to see.

Had an email this afternoon advertising "Discounted Hospitality" for the Wings Suite - down from £300+VAT to £250+VAT for Burnley and Palace games. Still 200+ spots available for each game. Does feel that if the performances and results don't pick up it may look like they've gone too far too soon on the upgrades to the Hospitality offering.

It’s just poorly thought out and overpriced for an area behind the goal. Fair enough have a sports type bar area if you must, but for me you’re trying to attract fans with a little bit of extra cash rather than corporate for an area like that in the ground.

As a comparison the Barracks in the Milburn is cheaper and is sold out for the season.

Stupidity and greed leading to unnecessary empty seats.  And you’re right - they’ve jumped the gun, but it tells you where they intend to take it.

There for “an initial lifespan of three years as the club explores potential uses for the site”. So would appear any expansion would be a minimum of c. four years away?

With it being chosen as a venue if UK/Ire get Euro 28 i doubt we could have done anything by then anyway with all the planning, design period then all the work with the metro station.

Sure they said they’re looking at the feasibility of re-developing the East Stand first anyway.

Was a feasibility study done for the gallowgate pre-ashley? The one that was in conjunction with the casino project?

Landscape hasn't really changed in the vacinity with obviously the same challenges

For me it doesn't make any sense. In one location they have the land....in the other location they don't.

It would make far more sense to work on the gallowgate expansion whilst spending the next 5 years buying small bits of land like st James terrace and st James st to at least give the east stand a chance of having a larger foot print
