HayDen Traces
Here is the top part. Newcastle's new chief operating officer Brad Miller has revealed the club are in the final stages of reaching a decision on the stadium project Newcastle would prefer to expand St James’ Park rather than relocate. Newcastle United are preparing to write a “once-in-a-generation” cheque to resolve the St James’ Park expansion dilemma – with a definitive decision on next steps now “really, truly” imminent. In a clear sign that the club are in the final stages of a decision on the huge stadium project, Newcastle’s new chief operating officer Brad Miller has offered reassurances over the ownership’s “overwhelming” commitment to invest either in St James’ Park or a new build elsewhere in the city. Miller, who was appointed in June, says the board is now “working through the last couple of questions we’ve got” after the completion of a wide-ranging, six-figure feasibility study into possible options which has included “war gaming” the issues around both a sizeable expansion of St James’ Park and also how a new-build stadium would work in practice. Goes on a bit after this.

Whitley mag
This is the best part considering bloke was in charge of Manchester Airport. In his first major interview, Miller – who will be responsible for overseeing a series of infrastructure projects on the horizon, including a possible training ground rebuild – said his own decision to relocate his family and join the club was driven by what he had been told about their infrastructure plans before he committed to the job. Sadly the club couldn’t sell the land that SJP occupies because they don’t own it but maybe could sell SJP back to the club somehow and eventually turn it into something else for the City. Keegans Export
I imagine they wouldn't be putting this guy out there doing interviews if we weren't very close to an announcement of some kind. Presumably step one is either are we moving or are we staying. How much we get beyond that will depend on what's been going on behind the scenes, because they can't come out and say "We're moving to Castle Leazes!" only for the Council or whoever else to say "No you're not" If I had to guess, I reckon that before the end of next month they'll say that they're going to look to build a new stadium and are beginning to investigate all avenues before identifying the optimal site etc.
KetsbaiaIsBald
It's a good article and sounds exciting. But it's still just a "soon" article. Probably driven by Man Utd's ability to put out their ideas in a couple months when they've been moving so slowly. I just want to hear the actual plans!
