Not sure if best thread but basically reasons as expected…

For the last two years they’ve been -  firstly through an external agency and then via their commercial department - seeking to close a deal on a training kit sponsor. The figure I saw and admittedly this was not recent, it would be difficult I suspect for anyone other than a related party to entertain. Comparable to a bottom half front of shirt.

Could it be more justified now given our performance over the past 2/3 seasons?

What a load of shite.

We could have signed a rolling one year deal on both.

Yep, it’s complete bollocks.  Even if they went with an AP, they could get said AP to offer say £15m; the PL then adjust it to £5m, and if Man City win their case it gets backdated to £15m and corrected going forwards

I know it wasn’t a likely site since the latest Leazes leaks, but funding has been secured for the housing and green space development at Forth Yards near the arena.

That’s my ferry ⛴️ and helicopter 🚁 business up in smoke…

I've heard that part of that funding has been ringfenced to cover the cost of moving Leazers Terrace to Forth Yards, brick by brick

I never go in Stack, place isn't my vibe at all nor was the one at the bottom of Northumberland Street when it was there. However its laughable, that. They want to have a look at their mad price rises in the last 3 years. Was a fiver or less for a pint at the end of 2022, now its well over 6 quid in most city centre pubs. Costs the same to drink in Newcastle as it does in the vast majority of London now.

Tbf any local paying over £6 a pint in Newcastle has a screw loose. Lot's of Newcastle pubs like The Percy, Three Bulls, Rose & Crown, Hotspur, Clock, Beehive, Black Garter, Magpie, Canny Lad etc offer many pints for less than half that, and that's before you consider the Five Swans, Milecastle and other Wetherspoons offerings.

If you want to ponce around Grey Street you'll find plenty of places who'll happily take £6 off you for a pint of ale that generally won't be as good as the aforementioned pubs in my experience but it doesn't have to be that way.

You seem to be forgetting the vast majority of the bars you’ve listed are absolute dives.

It could be argued quite convincingly that anyone drinking in most of those boozers you listed has a screw loose. No offence intended.

Which is the one opposite Rose & Crown that’s somehow even worse than Rose & Crown despite being new? Absolutely dire

The Lowther?

I don't mind a dive every so often but I never go in those listed with good reason.

They're fucking brilliant pubs, especially midweek. Great for people watching. Beer always spot on as well.

Too many snobs on here like [emoji38]

Totally out of order listing The Hotspur there - one of the best pubs in Newcastle.

I wish there was an updated version of the Burglar's Dog to settle all this, or that I could remember what it said about all of those pubs

That was such a great site, some of the reviews had me in stitches ;D

I’d say the minority TBH. Some perfectly fine pubs in that list. Surely it’s about the company also?
