Nobby
Van Gaal In Newcastle Jibe AZ Alkmaar coach Louis van Gaal has stoked the flames ahead of tonight’s Uefa Cup last-16 clash with Newcastle. The Magpies host the Dutch side in the first-leg, with Obafemi Martins expected to be one of the main threats to the visitors. But van Gaal, while praising the Nigerian, has suggested that the club does not match his talents. He said: "When you look at Obafemi Martins, in my eyes he is one of the best strikers at the moment in this league and maybe Europe as well. He is flexible, he is fast, he can shoot with both feet and he is a good header of the ball. "He has got talent, but he is not really playing at a top European club at the moment. Maybe Newcastle are a top club, but they have not had success in the last few years." Link

Nobby
AZ Alkmaar coach Louis van Gaal says Newcastle United aren't big enough for Obafemi Martins. Ahead of tonight's UEFA Cup tie, Van Gaal said: "When you look at Obafemi Martins, in my eyes he is one of the best strikers at the moment in this league and maybe Europe as well. He is flexible, he is fast, he can shoot with both feet and he is a good header of the ball. "He has got talent, but he is not really playing at a top European club at the moment. Fugazi
aye cos AZ Alkaline are the giants of yoorup! Where has he compared us to Alkmaar? What he says is true, we clearly aren't a top european club. "Maybe Newcastle are a top club, but they have not had success in the last few years." True, no?

James
He is again basically saying that we have the ability to be successful, but we aren't there yet. He knows that if he wants to manage in England, he would have to go to a club like Newcastle United. He is preparing himself for that eventuality. Guest toon tone rudeboy
LVG at NUFC would be immense. His comments about Martins though are a bit funny IMO. What big European team was chasing him for his signature? Oba is the only thing I see as proof that Roeder isn't a complete idiot.
