SAM ALLARDYCE'S rebuilding programme has been given the green light to go for first base, after Bolton reluctantly granted Newcastle United permission to speak to one of his key lieutenants.

Mark Taylor, head of sports science and medicine at the Reebok Stadium, has been singled out by the new Magpies boss as the ideal man to eradicate the club's long-standing poor injury record.

And Taylor, originally from the North-East before his playing career took him to the west of the country, could begin talks with Newcastle before the end of the week.

There are also rumours that Big Sam wants Bolton's performance director, Mike Forde who was also very important part of his backroom staff at Bolton.

If we can bring the most important staff members who worked with Sam at Bolton would be nice for the club.

It looks like Sam is going to be building up the club from the foundations which is nice. I would be happy knowing that the same old people(such as Terry Mac) who have been constants at the club were being replaced by fresh blood. Will this also mean the end for Derek Wright as Physio then?

Terry Mac deserves a chance to prove he can be our head of sports science and medicine

What is it that Terry Mac does again? Does he get the hobnobs for the tea-lady from Macro, and are Newcastle only keeping him because he is the only one with an estate car?

Great to see some professionalism creeping in at last - wonder if it will spread right throughout the club....!!??

We need at least 5 years of this type of approach from Academy upwards if we are to set up a proper Club

like Liverpool were in the 80's - continuity is everything provided its the right sort of continuity....

Good to see Sam starting on the right foot by bringing in those who have been proven to make a genuine contribution to the performance and development of a club instead of the 'I'm sure we could find a job for him' attitude previously evident in the club.

The rebuilding process continues, now hopefully Big Sam can weed out the shite from our current coaching staff, and get himself a number two who knows what their doing

So basically Fat Sam has no clue how to recruit a new special team and has to resort to poaching his old staff, after assuring his chairman he was taking a break from football

strikes me as a cunt with no honour, and certainly no skills in what he claims to be master of. So who is responsible for Bolton's success? Sam or his cronies?

he assembled his team to lighten the load and make it more into a system rather than a one man reaction. We don't really know what was said between chairman and SA but certainly if we get the best of his old back room staff why shouldn't we? he is used to working along side them daily and while we can feel sorry for bolton we have to think of ourselves. We shouldn't knock SA for his backroom staff we should applaud him.

Unbelievable. Exactly why, in any business, would it be a bad idea to work alongside people you've worked with before, who were compatible with you and over time and experience, mixed together to a degree of success?

I couldn't care less about Bolton to be honest, if we can take all their staff so be it (as long as we don't end up paying over the odds to do so). No point getting new people in if the guys he used to work with can come, this is unless of course there are better options avaliable, something I doubt at this moment in time.

Some of that makes sense, but why not take the staff with him? He is the one who originally brought them to Bolton, he had to work his socks off to find them in the first place, and it would probably took alot of chopping and changing so why mess with succes? Just take it with you.

So if Wenger went somewhere else and tried to sign Fabregas would he be a shit manager who has to try and sign his old players because he doesn't know how to find new ones?

Different forum, different username, same shit.
