Mowen
I'm suprised that so many people have got Pompey down to finish absolutely nowhere. Decent defense, but I can't see where they'll get any goals from next year. They're shite away as well. I think they overperformed last season. Decent defense, but I can't see where they'll get any goals from next year. They're shite away as well. I think they overperformed last season. I think there defence is a whole lot better than "Decent". That James/Distin/Campbell core is one of the very best in the league I reckon. Miles better than anyone else outside the top 4. Of course its a team game but I can really see them doing well from such a strong backline...I think they are going to win a lot of games 1-0. A LOT. And they've already got some good players in midfield like Taylor, Mendes, Muntari...And if they manage to get a quality forward in...? Top 6. blueyes.gif Have to agree to disagree I think, really don't rate them as a team. There's not enough spark there, although they will be hard to score against. I just can't ever see them worrying teams really, none of their strikers will score regularly (I'd be surprised if Kanu gets as many this season as he did last, and he stopped scoring by the end of October: Lua Lua and Benjani will score fuck all) and they won't be able to rely on Taylor always scoring from 30yrds like they did this year. Don't know much about Muntari I have to say, but there's not a lot that excites me in that team. They might just scrape top half but my guess would be in the 9th-12th bracket. brummie
Take this in good heart, but anyone who thinks a manager is going to join a club, build a new squad, build his own backroom team, and finish fourth (whilst all the time in the background the entire management and board of the club is changing) in one season has clearly been smoking crack. Dont knock it till you've tried it. I'm doing several rocks a day at the moment just to cope with the tedium of the close season, tbh I knew that when you posted that Villa would finish above us next season I've had a wager concerning that with Parky. He's been PMing me begging me to reduce the amount or call off the bet, but I'm not having it.

Guest tbelcher11
I'm gonna be really optimistic here 1. man u 2. chelsea 3. newcastle 4. liverpool Is it not reasonable? I would not be surprised at all if arsenal had a falling out this year, it seems like a time that they would do it because of their reliance on henry. I mean, we all saw how it took a lot for them to hang on when he was injured last year. I can guarantee you that sam will solidify our defense so they are more consistent. I have faith in the consistency of Given (except when he tears his stomach... but that's a different story.... by the way, that would hurt...) Also, I think Newcastle is just on the verge of breaking out. Sports go in cycles and it's about time to take those on top out. It's just a matter of the teams lower than them being able to step up and take what they deserve. So yeah, a bit optimistic probably, but if you can't be optimistic now, when can you? Mowen
Love it how yous are all putting Derby bottom. Well at this stage it's between them and Wigan, they've got a very weak team on paper. Arguably weaker than Watfords last season.
