We should loan both out next season and put a recall clause or get a Hilario type to cover Harper IMO with the provision that one takes over from Harper the season after.

Harper will be busier obviously, personally I reckon he'll be replaced before half way through the season.

Hopefully.

If he is being replaced it means he isn't doing a good job, I hope he isn't replaced because he is doing well.

Got to think long term though. If Harper is replaced by neither Forster or Krul as our long term number 1 we will have failed massively.

The long term future may Ole Soderberg (Swedish U21) or Jak Alnwick (England U17).

I don't think there is a club in the PL that can touch for keepers with potential.

Jak Alnwick better than his brother?

I never saw his brother at junior age but I know folk from Prudhoe who say Jak is the better keeper.

yeah i've never seen his brother play but i've heard people say that at the age Jak is now he's better than his brother was at that age.

anyone got access to a decent tractor lover forum to see what they think of him saying as they've seen more of him than most of us.

pink un is the Norwich one, not sure Ipswich fans would give a reasoned feedback.

Aye, I went to school with Jak up until last year, he was absolutely class everytime I've seen him. Very highly rated within the club aswell apparently.

Forster's one weakness seems to be is his kicking, which is easily worked on.

i think given and harper both prove that wrong tbh

:nope:

When Harper first arrived on the scene, his kicking was brilliant, much better than Shay's. He just got lazy with it.

A rare privately educated footballer (if wiki is true).

Wiki is indeed true, always nice to see a footballer with a bit up top (pardon any pun)

Being privately educated doesn't mean he's more intelligent, it means he had parents who could afford to and chose to educate him privately.

Will he be the first prem player from Hexham if he makes it?

I was in his class for a year, was never really pals with him; probably a bit of both wealth and nonce if I'm honest

Norwich City return appeals to Fraser Forster

Fraser Forster says he would jump at the chance to return to Norwich City in the Championship next season.

The 22-year-old goalkeeper has spent the season on loan at Carrow Road from parent club Newcastle United.

After lifting the League One title he told BBC Radio Norfolk he would be happy with another year at Norwich.

"I'd love to come back but it's not my decision, it's all down to Newcastle if they'll let me come back. We'll just have to see what happens," he said.

Forster was substituted five minutes before the end of City's final game of the season against Carlisle, leaving the field to a stadium-wide chant of "Fraser Forster, one more year."

He says that if Newcastle did want him to gain another year's experience out on loan, the Norfolk club would be his first choice.

"Yes, definitely. Obviously I know all the lads and it would be easy to fit straight back in, I've loved it since I came here," he said.

"The manager's been brilliant with me and I'd love to come and work with Paul Lambert again.

"The fans have been brilliant with me since I came here, they've supported me all season. It was nice to come off and get that reception."

Forster finished the season just one clean sheet short of equalling Kevin Keelan's 1974/75 club record of 19.

He also finished second in the fans' player of the season award, behind top scorer and captain captain Grant Holt.

"I got players' player off the lads so I was delighted with that, but then to come second to Grant Holt, he quite rightly won it," added Forster.

Get him to play a few of our pre-season matches and send him back

and what would be the point in that? Surely you play Krul & Harper.

Dunno, just to give him a chance to pull on a Newcastle jersey. At least give him 1 game to show that we still care about him...

Harper has played enough, he only needs a few games.
