Dyer given permission to talk to West Ham, fee agreed

I think it is absolute crap, if BSA had any idea he was going to put in a transfer request would he have made him captain when Barton went off, he must be reasonably happy in training etc or Sam would not have give him the armband. I honestly think it yet again Anal stirring shit because Dyer refuses to give him interviews and they hate each other, anyway do you honestly think Dyer would see moving to West Ham as a step up in his career, and England aspirations.  >:(

I couldnt care less whether he stays or goes. When he plays well i like him as a player, but when you look back at his time here that good game is basically once a month when hes "fit". I think the majority of fans would agree in saying that hes absolutely nothing to us - if hes there fine he plays pretty well, if hes not do you really notice/care?

What is important though is increasing the size of our squad rather than decreasing it, and if he goes then its just another body out the door with a sudden flurry of transfer activity becoming less and less likely before the window slams shut.

Whatever, he can fuck off :D

Is this the transfer that signals us into a new direction? Have we actually moved on what from everything Sir Bob created and dreamt for us? I still long for the days of exciting football, the days when we had Bellamy causing being a nuisance and Dyer tirelessly running around in midfield but if Dyer leaves, I think it'll truly close that chapter for me. Time to move on.

A better example would have been the peddling of Titus. The difference between the two is that Dyer's actually a decent player.

Scott Parker?

I think it's very likely he'll leave, you could tell by the way Allardyce spoke that he sensed he wanted or knew he wanted to leave.

And that he wouldn't be afraid to boot him, which is good. I'd rather Dyer stayed - providing he wants to be here - but if he wants out he should be booted. The likes of Roeder would have tried to keep him regardless. No messin' with Big Sam!

BSA told him that he would struggle to get in his first eleven as he wanted Barton, Parker wanted to stay. I think BSA has stated over the last few days that he sees Dyer being an integral part of the squad.

On another note, if West Ham come out of the transfer window having signed Parker and Dyer - it's proof that their scouting department is f****** unadulterated s****.

Curbishley knows Parker first hand man.

Obviously rates him in any case, maybe we wasted him ?? who knows

Aye fair point. Parker is understandable; Parker and Dyer is an obscure couple of signings, though, for what would inevitabley stretch to a transfer fee over £10m...

naah,i don't believe that's for real.. tomorrow will show us, though

I'll be more interested in who the NOTW links us with this week - my money's on the reincarnation of Ferenc Puskas. Ashley's had a word and he wants to be part of the revolution apparently.

Dyer epitomized Bobby's team imo. Energetic, exciting and whose potential was unbounded at times, and other times he was weak, soft and disinterested. He was there for the highs (Feyenoord, Leeds away) and was probably at one of the lowest points (Boro away) as well. There's also the playboy image that neither the players or SBR himself played down, which was a big part of our team with all the youngsters (Bellamy, Dyer, Titus, Jenas etc.) being a significant part of the squad. End of an era indeed if he does leave.

All fair points, and admittedly i've felt the same thing. I've certainly been one to rave about the 'new era', and Dyer is one of those players that fits into the category of 'should boots' in that respect - as you've outlined. Dunno though, that might be a bit too sentimental and unrealistic. Dyer's still a good player and i still feel that if we want a strong squad, it's the likes of him who we should be hanging onto...

;D

whats also true is that we really shouldn't let anybody leave.. not until we have few players more and simply a bigger squad..

Certainly true. Can't be forcing so many more replacements when we're already stuttering on the current ones.
