Baines signs for Everton

Recommended Posts

As for Baines, decent player but not as good as some suggest, I'd rather we tried to sign Bridge even though he's injured and play Drago (if we sign him) at LB until he returns from injury.

I think we should buy Baines and play him in the centre, won't do him any harm and he's only young.

;)

His errors are more likely to cost us if he plays in the middle so it's a bit of a daft suggestion tbh.

Chronicle has this on the back page too and there's a picture of Silvestre too, don't have the story though.

I think it goes along the lines of..

Sorry Silvestre, you turned us down so we bought the beast Drago and Leighton.

Enjoy playing for the reserves next year

Oliver 'understands' that Silvestre knocked us back because of Barton.

The Sun understood that last week Alan.

What's this about too: "Big Sam is a big fan of the way Baines plays, but his only reservation is that he is a bit small for a left-back and this must leave John Beresford eating his heart out."

Eh?

Those random references to former players he likes are just brilliant.

Beresford is a coule of inches shorter then Baines.

What's that got to do with him "eating his heart out"? I'm sure John Beresford "couldn't really give a toss" - he's hardly gonna nick his place.
