So are we having the competitions like last year then?

If someone else wants to run them then that's fine with me. It was plenty hassle last season and I'll have even less time to sort it this year.

I know I'm not a Geordie, but if no one else wants to do it, I'll step in. I already do it for another website, and have far too much time on my hands.

Go for it. We had quite a few non-Geordies in it last season anyway including fans of teams we'd met in Europe.

Ive made a mistake of trying to help a friend join the league, its for some strange reason replaced the team name he had with ABC and his user name changed to the same as mine (was done on my computer, but dont know why it would do this?) can anyone delete it for us? as it wont let us sign into it either. just says username unknown or wrong password bollox when we know its right!

any ideas?

Doesn't matter, points are based on what they do in their individual games.

109 teams at present, so good going!

What I suggest for the competition, is an FA Cup and a UCL style thing.

Wrt the FA Cup style competition, after GW1 (to allow for late comers), I'll see how many we have, and then devise a format (i.e. byes, and how many rounds we'll have). That will operate based purely on a knock-out basis.

Wrt the UCL style competition, you have until after GW5 to amass as many points as possible. Then, the top 128 (assuming we get 19 more players between now and then), will be drawn into 32 groups of 4, using a ranking system. Top 2 qualify to round 2, at which point it becomes a 2-legged straight knockout competition.

So for the UCL competition:

GW1-5 - ranking points accumulation.

GW6 - Matchday 1

GW8 - Matchday 2

GW10 - Matchday 3

GW12- Matchday 4

GW14 - Matchday 5

GW16 - Matchday 6

GW18 - 2nd Round 1st Leg

GW20 - 2nd Round 2nd Leg

GW22 - 3rd Round 1st Leg

GW24 - 3rd Round 2nd Leg

GW26 - 4th Round 1st Leg

GW28 - 4th Round 2nd Leg

GW30 - Quarter Final 1st Leg

GW32 - Quarter Final 2nd Leg

GW34 - Semi Final 1st Leg

GW36 - Semi Final 2nd Leg

GW38 - Final

I'll do a similar thing for the FA Cup (N-O Cup henceforth!) after GW1. I suggest, as there isn't a great gap between GWs 1 and 2, that the deadline for entry to the N-O Cup is Monday 21st August at 7pm, after which I'll devise the format and make the draw.

Is that ok by everyone?!
