I can seem him and Nicklas Jackson getting on like a house on fire
-
O’nines decline will be a brilliant watch, a bit like watching him walk with dog poo during a full interview.

Totally agree re the general appeal of Paris, but not in terms of them being potentially one of the world’s biggest clubs - despite the size of the city (over 10m in the urban area), it doesn’t have another top flight club, and PSG never attracted large or fervent support. It just isn’t a football city. Of course, they’re winning constantly, so they can fill their ground - which is smaller than the Stadium of Shite.

Neither Diomande nor Akliouche had what you’d call “sensational” seasons. Akliouche performed well, while Diomande was relatively underwhelming—so a €60 million price tag for either doesn’t exactly scream value. Fair prices, perhaps, but nothing exceptional in my view. Meanwhile, Ekitike, who by most accounts had a genuinely standout season, is reportedly being valued at €85 million. As for the Huijsen deal, people talk about it as if flipping a €17 million signing into a €50 million sale within a year is straightforward—but in reality, that kind of return is extremely rare.

The really do think some of their players are "all that" I am pretty sure O'Nien will be on toast most weeks. A few red cards incoming for him. That Hume the times I have seen him has looked half decent to be fair, think he could go on to be a decent PL player but you'd swear blind he was the next Roberto Carlos.
-
I also agree we are vulnerable to him leaving in the future, but I do wonder who would stump up the money. The only one that I could see potentially happening is Liverpool in a years time. They would usually like to sign someone before they got to the £100m+ level, but maybe the signing of Wirtz is a shift in mentality for them to stay at the very top for a while. City have Haaland, Real Madrid have Mbappe et al, it would take a lot for Man Utd to be able to get him, could Arsenal afford him? No idea, but the pool of clubs is quite small. If we do have a gentlemen's agreement with Isak to go, next summer would be the time to capitalise for maximum dollar. But no idea who would stump up the money, I know it sounds ludicrous but it genuinely would be in the region of £150m surely. I never want to lose him and would be mint if he could score 200+ for us, but £150m would be very difficult to turn down, now or in the future.
-
Agree with this. While I understand Trafford is worth paying a bit extra for being battle hardened in English football, I saw us linked with Lucas Chevalier as an alternative. He looks like he's going to be a top GK as well, if we can get him for significantly less and his club are easier to deal with, I wouldn't be unhappy with seeing him here.
-
When? Unless I have miss counted sixteen major honors since 2000 not including Charity Shields Most be the lightest of light sleepers, not sure Man U are that asleep either
-
Found this quite amusing.

All I heard was how Hume was going to knack Gordon. All Gordon done was skip by him constantly and get his shirt ripped off his back...by Hume Even now loads of them are falling into that trap of completely overrating the players we have, I seen someone yesterday say their defence is sound for the Premier League. I'm sure Haaland, Salah & Isak are trembling at the thought. I, like many others, obviously fancy the likes of Wolves & Brentford to take them to the cleaners. They'll win a few games at home but it won't be enough. I'll be staggered if they get close to 40 points.
-
… or a team in the PL surely?
-
I posted something about worth keeping him for an extra season seeing as we are in the CL a couple of days ago. Haven't bothered to trawl through all the hoo-harr shite, not really interested.
-
Fine; maybe obscure was a little bit of an exaggeration but any player with a lot to prove represents a gamble and fees usually reflect this. Established or let’s say more “hyped” players in any league will go for big money.
-
Definitely. He's helped win us a cup and played some fantastic football. Get a massive fee and wish him well. Just not to fkn Arsenal.
-
You might be right. As stated already, I don't really follow French football, this is just my perception that a Paris club had the potential to be one of the world's biggest. Maybe once the money dries up they will go back to being a farmers league. Maybe that could be true of Man City and Chelsea for that matter. They were well known clubs when I was growing up, but certainly no world beaters. Money definitely catapulted them into the stratosphere, and being associated with London and Manchester probably helped.
-
I think we only have about 4-5 players at most who can demand top wages anyway. It's probably worth paying them to keep them onboard if we have aims to be considered a top club as well.
-
Yes and no, I don’t think Paris has that much potential except when artificially boosted by Qatari money. TBH I still think of them as a weird Frankenstein club in some ways, a relatively average club in an average league but with loads of money making them big.
-
Paris being Paris is always going to attract eyes, same way as London. I accept that the French League wasn't much of a competiton, but that's not what I'm saying. My point is that PSG being based in Paris always had the potential to be one of the biggest teams in the world. I mean, that's how it has played out right?
-
The media are desperate for him to go to Liverpool
-
As brilliant as he is I think Isak would have to stay fit and firing for a whole season for someone to spend £100m+ on him. I think the very elite clubs might still have some reservations. If his contract runs down I guess it might be different.
-
I don't know he can't but how do you know he can? I'm just pointing out that to say he is the best player because he has skills you like, doesnt mean he would be the best fit for an Eddie Howe team
-
What are their crowds like now? Are they still playing in front of low turnouts? I only ask because I seem to remember they have a very vocal presence at St James during the CL fixture, and their home game looked pretty well supported.
-
Well sure, just seems like you should agree with the club whether you can actually afford to buy the guy. Maybe that happens informally.
