If refs came out and said there would be zero tolerance for all simulation (including exaggerating injury), and then enforced it with yellow and red cards where necessary, I'd bet there'd be some tantrums for a while before people quickly adapted and players started staying on their feet etc.
-
If/when we get CL I’m really interested to see what we can do commercially to get our revenue up even more. If it happens then we’ve been in the CL 2/3 seasons as well as won a title. Surely even FMV sponsorships should be allowed to get a bit higher as we are on the up. Perhaps we’ve been waiting to make new deals until we know the competitions we are in.
-
We're in for Vlahovic basically. He's out of contract in 2026. Whenever I've watched him he's looked like a bit of a donkey.
-
Some of it to me is dark arts and the other is that when you stay on your feet the refs are more likely to say it's a 50/50 tussel and play on. I am sure we are pleased he's ours and not against us big Joe would easily get red carded against a player like Gordon "making a meal of it"
-
Call me overly simplistic but I really think we'll have the budget to strengthen as we need to, if we're savvy and don't just chase Crystal Palace defenders for 3 months. A few purples, a few bench/rotation quality players, offset by a few semi decent sales. I really don't think we should expect/achieve less than that. Free agents should be looked at especially.
-
What does that mean? why would we want Vlahovic?
-
Best football we've played in months was with the 3 wingers on the pitch, allowed Gordon or Barnes to drift inwards. We have very little attacking threat or fluidity thru the middle with the big 3 playing most games. Wish Joe could learn to attack, mad he was an attacker. Defo wouldn't sell Barnes, Gordon hasn't looked his usual self this year, probably the offering to the bin dippers.
-
One good thing we are doing is trying to keep our options open and take advantage of free transfers, release clauses and FFP swipes from other clubs. That might mean getting players we don’t 100% need so be it. I don’t love Angel Gomes for our system. But if getting him for free means we can spend big money on another CM, sell Longstaff and Willock - great. Let’s do it. I don’t see where Cunha fits but if we can get him for £50m let’s do it.

A local Juve reporter/personality. He broke the Kelly news later reported by Fab.
-
There needs to be a culture shift to get football away from the near constant rolling around on the floor, surrounding refs, all this immoral and moronic nonsense that tarnishes the game. I guess if the FA/PGMOL had the balls to enforce it, it could and likely would happen, and quickly. Gordon's simply in the majority of modern footballers who are playing the system and trying to gain an advantage wherever they can get one. I don't like it one bit but I put more blame on the FA etc for standing idly by while this behavior goes on unchecked.
-
Is this the price of shipping them Kelly?
-
So many variables that I am glad it's not my decision. If he kicks on and puts in his fair share of goals we would be mad to let him go. If him being sold facilitates Mitchell getting 2 younger prospects in for strength and depth who go on to do well we would probably say in hindsight it's for the greater good. I like getting shiny new things in terms of players but this PSR shite has you thinking of players as liabilities and deprecating assets.
-
If Zinchenko starts we’ll win this

Don't think you can plan in detail for 2026 - right now. If we have back-to-back Champions League seasons compared to 0, it's a massive difference. Likw £250m difference when you factor in gate receipts, average ticket price, genuine sponsors, FMV sponsors. Some of our better players might want to leave, some may fall off a physical cliff, and others might enjoy an Indian summer. The manager's status might change. Some of the kids may emerge etc.
-
I think he was a lot better than he was at Everton, but has gotten worse again this season. Has been going for cheaper options while he was out of form.
-
Re: decision making, if Howe can get Murphy consistently making the right decisions, it's surely just a question of time until Barnes is. Entirely up to Howe on whether he's open to moving him on or not as far as I'm concerned. The traditional reasons for selling are obvious, but he's made a valuable contribution this season and we've got a lot of games to play next year. So I'll just wait and see.
-
Still think due to the numbers of kids we snapping up some come good for the first-team lowering our expenditure or they good enough to sell to reinvest in the match day squad. Not sure how far away some of these 17/18/19 year olds will be at in the next 12/18 months
-
I'm not overly concerned about the definition of world class. Tonali is top dogs, Bruno is top dogs, for our system Joelinton is top dogs. We need a physical beast that can play in that 3 without any drop off. That's probably a £40-60m player. If you can get that quality for less, great. After a RW, CB that's the next priority position for me.
-
Like if we spend £120m and it’s a GK / CB / RW in, with maybe a back up ST low cost, it doesn’t provide us much wiggle room to then sign the other 5 positions we need in 2026 without a significant outgoing. If there’s a seriously good offer for a player this summer, I think we will and we should sell. Easier to evolve squad from a position of strength.
-
Can't believe there's still people who want to sell him. He's produced more than Gordon this season and is only proving the value of having a SQUAD of players. Especially if we're playing CL next season.
-
Would be a good punt, need a big squad to compete across all fronts next season.
-
I wouldn’t sell but this is the last window we get peak value
