  1. Anyone know if you can use the Magpie Mover on the train from Newcastle to Durham on a match day ?
  2. Who's your source then ?
  3. Surely he could secure the loan in the same way the old one was, basically backed my ticket sales up to 28k ? We have more season ticket holders than that I think so it would easily be covered.
  4. At his age he's got no more than 2 seasons left, and who else would pay that wage ? He'd be good to bring on a young lad to replace Taylor if he goes, or Collo if he stays. Depends on who is signing him. Don't think he'll be on anywhere near that way to be honest. He knows he's not wanted in the top flight and we're getting rid of big earners. I have no doubts he's on a pretty cheap contract when he comes just so he's still at a "big club" and has the chance of Premiership football. I'm sure he'll have the option of a nice bonus payment if we go up.

    Joey Barton

Don't be daft. His passing was good and he kept possession bt where has his pace gone he looked like he couldnt run half the gmae.
  6. We'd be better off not signing Simpson if that's the case. depends if he's only thinking about owning the club till January window then putting it on the market again. If he takes it off the market of course.
  7. Well it probably is to be fair. It's just a youth player from Man U joining us on loan, it's not that big a deal to anyone else.
  8. Probably cause it's a loan signing of a not very well known player.
  9. Isn't he a RB and a replacement for Beye? No idea I know very little about him.
  10. He's a defender which I'm not sure should worry us more about the Taylor news. Think he was at Blackburn last season.
  11. maybe be awful to hear but the end of the day the money goes to two very worthwhile charities.

    O'Leary

    Discussed here http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,63781.0.html
  13. And O'Leary should take credit for that and getting the best out of players, who haven't had blidning careers otherwise, which is the whole point. Had he been backed, he could have really pushed them on but he wasn't given the money to spend. The team were there before he came why should he get the credit for them ? Ask a Villa fan why they hated him so much if you want the true feeling of David Oleary.
  14. I believe this is the squad from that period: GK 25 Peter Enckelman, 1 Thomas Sorensen, 13 Stefan Postma Defenders 27 Ronny Johnsen, 4 Olof Mellberg, 3 Lloyd J. Samuel, 6 Gareth Barry, 2 Mark Delaney, 29 Rob Edwards, 15 Ulises De La Cruz Midfielders 17 Pete Whittingham, 12 Thomas Hitzlsperger, 30 Stephen Cooke, 20 Mustapha Hadji, 7 Lee Hendrie, 23 Stefan Moore, 26 Mark Kinsella, 8 Gavin McCann Forwards 18 Juan Pablo Angel, 10 Darius Vassell, 14 Marcus Allback, 16 Peter Crouch, 9 Dion Dublin Lets be honest here Angel was outstanding that season. Sorensen was still playing at his peak, Hendrie was able to get a game and play well and Gavin McCann never looked as bad as he did at the mackems. Vassell had the pace to match up with Angel and the team just worked well together. It had a good mix of youth and experience and could have very easily pushed on from there if it was backed which it wasn't. The fact is the squad was about ten times as good as ours.
  15. Just checking You need your black and white specks adjusting abit then their in overdrive
  16. LOL your funny I'll give you that much. Are you a Liverpool fan or an Everton fan by the way ?
  17. He had no money to spend at Villa and took a poor squad into the top 6. The team we have now is better than that Villa side he had. What you smoking to think that Villa side was worse than our current team !!
  18. Lets be honest if Ashley stays and brings in anyone like O'Leary then it's obvious he's still looking to sell so our situation is simply that we are still up in the air, nobody will sign because they know he will be looking to sell again, we'll be looking at yet another manager in a few months time and we'll follow the exact same route when he did that last season. He needs to decide if he's keeping it he keeps it which means a long term view with a long term manager which appears to be Shearer. If he sells it he simply accepts one of the bids he has in for the club now. If he does neither of these I fear for the club I really do.
  19. And wasn't he sacked at Villa because the players came out with a joined statement saying how terrible he was.
  20. and yet you'd think if you were interested in buying something for a certain price and the person selling was meanwhile disposing of bits of it you might well alter your offer price. Maybe the sales were occurring to get the price to match the bid ?
  21. Depends on the terms, it may be much more attractive than having to borrow it from elsewhere. Again, I don't think this would automatically attract chancers who only have £20m - that's not something to worry about IMO. Anyone interested will probably still have to prove to SP they can theoretically afford the full thing. If you have the dosh, just pay it off and get rid of him otherwise he will still be hanging round the club like a bad smell. I don't care if Ashley is owed money as long as he's not in control of the club anymore. Being able to pay £20m up front and owe £80m by a set date (say 4 years) is like getting a £80m interest free loan. They can then use some of that 80m to finances what they want to do with the club instead of potentially having to go to the banks and lumber us with millions of pounds in interest payments. The article suggests it would be next summer he'd want the rest not 4 years.
  22. Can't sell a shop, he's no chance of selling a club !
