  1. http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/08/06/property-tycoon-linked-to-takeover-of-nufc-72703-24332825/ I thought the Chronicle had rubbished this? David Craig just did on SSN. No he didn't, he said it looks unlikely that a deal will be done with him. He doesn't deny there is any bid or that talks are on going. And if the club have simply told him to play the talks down that's what he's doing.
  2. The Moat bid has been ditched. It's dead in the water. Time to man the battlements and pull up the drawbridge for Ashley I think. Where you getting that from ?
  3. Question is, if all Spurs defenders are fit (HA) where would he fit in, he probably will end up not playing.
  4. Could have had a crap second year in the Premiership. He may have been the best defender since Woodgate but lets be honest we've not exactly had any good defenders in that time. That does sort of emphasise how difficult it is to get good defenders though. Doesn't exactly back up your dismissive attitude to us having finally landed one only to let him go a season later. You seem to be forgetting we're a Championship club now. Also was it Joe Harvey who said you should always get rid of players who don't want to be at the club as quickly as possible otherwise you'll end up relying on them in a time of need and they will let you down.

  6. What's going on tomorrow ?
  7. Could of course be done like the bent deal. Let the player talk with them and agree the contract, pass his medical then leave it from the clubs to fight out the fee. Could go on for a long while yet I guess.
  8. Whys that then? our best defender on the lowest wages and we cashed in? who we going to get to replace him on those wages? yeah but the fee makes it worth while I guess. Total of about £20m for the sale of two players. That amount will possibly cover half of the players wages for the season.
  9. I believe the £40m is for wages nothing else.
  10. It was mentioned in another aticle that he was backed by US investors. He will need to be Why ? Lets be honest here, the 100m loan which was backed on us getting 28,000 fans through the door was costing the club only £4m a year it wasn't an issue and still wouldn't be.
  11. So the bid's been lowered? Maybe but the previous bid may have been 4 million now 2 million if they got in Europe, 1 million spread over 1 million payments stuff like that lol My guess is any offer now will be the full amount upfront.
  12. According to the paper he has been told that. Same was reported about another bidder a few weeks back.
  13. I've been told that Keith Harris is on holiday because Seymour Pierce are in the process of cutting all ties with Ashley. They're f***ed off he wont accept a realistic offer for the club and they believe it's impacting on their reputation quite badly. Why would they care, they get paid regardless.
  14. Nah Bassong will be away I think, seems strange he's still not in the squad to play in the match on Saturday.
  15. And I'm sure once a chairman and manager is sorted more tickets will be sold.
  16. I think they had different deals, I think people who pay on the day will be charged what you were.
  17. As nufc.com say, 3k for away fans then add in the people that turn up on the day and we're at 30k. I agree with them when they say that's pretty damn good for a club with a want away chairman, want away players and no manager.
  18. Doesn't all the money go to Bobby Robsons charity
  19. Not his problem to be honest, he doesn't own the club, he's just employed by the club.
  20. To be fair despite the number owner being sorted and the cash being there the new owner of Portsmouth still hasn't taken over. Just cause we were sold quickly last time doesn't mean that's common I guess.
  21. But he still made a profit in these difficult times. A hell of a lot of companies are making a loss so any profit is pretty good. And he managed to open new stores and buy into more companies. Once theres a turn around his profits will go through the roof again. You're looking at about 18 months for a turnaround. He's asking way too much for the club and this is hampering any interested parties (if any are left). Which isn't a problem, I don't think he's planning on stopping SS now after all this time. And remember he made a profit in the worse time which as others have said is better than alot of other companies.
