  1. Not really, he gets paid Premiership wages and gets a shot at coaching which helps his CV. If he's going to play lower down why not still get paid top dollar. Anyone in here would do the same. Or do you mean at a later date? Probably get it at a later date but if not he's still getting paid top dollar. People don't honestly think there would be any other reason do they ? And I say it again anyone on here would do the same. I have no problem with players choosing a club cause they will pay more wages.
  2. Well it will be as Ashley owns the rest.

  4. Surely it makes sense to not buy the club outright in one go leaving him with cash to fund transfers instead. So basically a loan to buy the club for £100m and still needs the overdraft costing the club £4m a year ish in interest payments, this then means he hasn't lost that money and can use whatever money he has and the club brings in to fund players. Basically the Man U model for owning a club. I'm happy with this.
  5. Ian McParland is a world class manager ???
  6. You what? You know Dave, the Pompey takeover that is still yet to be completed and the Birmingham takeover that should be done by November not tyo mention the brum one has been on/off for at least a year or two already ...and ours hasn't..!? No that's the point. Someone said theres has happened quickly. Edit - Hang on that someone was you lol
  7. Usually plans and talks have been ongoing for these sort or deals to happen though
  8. Well if they are right and what ever it is has been delayed then thats got to be positive (ie at least it won't be an announcement that the deadline has been extended or Ashley was going to take it off the market but has been given a reason not to). f***ing hell this is going on forever! Or it's just the same old shite that the press have been saying for weeks and weeks and weeks and simply none of them have a club and the club has no intentions of letting his know anything until it happens.
  9. To be honest if the club gets taken off the market for a temporary time, I'd prefer to just leave everything manager wise as it is, least the players then know whats happening and we have a little bit of stability.
  10. I was going to say I don't think Niel is a moderator mind lol
  11. I do agree with that and was thinking the same. If Moat agrees to buy the club then Taylor stays. If not then Taylor leaves and Sol Campbell signs.
  12. But it is the same as what Radio Newcastle were saying and they had DL on their radio station last night.
  13. Very true. Neil - may I ask what an Everton fan is doing as moderator on a Newcastle fanzine, when Everton forums actively ban non-Everton fans from posting on theirs ? (Voice of experience from me) Didn't realize until seeing some of your posts on everton - their games, etc. Does it matter ?
  14. True. Suppose booking over the internet is easy enough though. Yesterday I phoned up at lunchtime and was on hold for 15 mins listening to the same s*** sunday lunch adverts at St James over and over. I just had to hang up at go to the cash turnstyle instead. 36 minutes on hold to buy a Blackpool ticket. There was only 7 people in fromt of me, i finally got through and it took 30 seconds to buy it. Sure they try to kill you with the incessant rubbish over the music And the 40p a minute call charges Thought it was much less? Better repay the boss then Someone mentioned it on the ticket board that's all. That's probably mobile rates think it's 5p a minute on standard line.

  16. I meant quotes of Shearer talking to Harry Redknapp, or are we meant to take what that man says as gospel truth !
  17. Would love to see the quotes of the comments that have been made.
  18. what an absolutely ridiculous post. Why on earth would Taylor see that as a kick in the teeth? He isn't quite stupid enough to believe he's anywhere near Bassong as a player. Yeah, the England u21 captain who has been universally praised throughout the mainstream media isn't going to think he's anywhere near as good as a recently called up cameroon international plucked from obscurity the year before... Whilst everyone on this board might recognise Taylor's flaws / Bassong's better all round game, I doubt Taylor trawls the net for his opinions on his own game. Not saying it's likely to be a reason for him to leave but to think Taylor openly recognises Bassong as this wildly better player is far more ridiculous. 'yes' or 'no' do you think Taylor would be offended to hear that Shearer rated Bassong more? He didn't so no I don't think he would have been offended by what was said.

Frankly any player leaving at the minute is bad news for us so if he stays that's great. I think the only exception to that is that we could probably allow one central midfielder to go. Geremi would be perfect to leave.

Are you a writer on that site by any chance ? Just seems strange the link posted is from nufcblog rather than the journal http://www.journallive.co.uk/nufc/newcastle-united-news/2009/08/21/gutierrez-magpies-set-to-fly-back-into-top-flight-61634-24495833/ where the article came from. No! it was on newsnow in the last half an hour or so. Just checking just their links seem to be appearing more and more on this site that's all.

  22. Nowt on the website. Yeah I noticed that, so did BBC cause they didn't link to it like they normally do. Could have course be a Radio Newcastle exclusive which late editions of the Times have picked up on. Either way hope it's true.
  23. Magpies owner Mike Ashley has given Moat a deadline of 1700 BST on Friday to buy the club. (The Times)
