  1. Because the profits we made in the transfer windows were not paid in full. Despite our policy being we pay in full for players, our policy for selling players was not the same and so the likes of the Milner money was not paid all in one go. This may explain the use of the overdraft facility offered to us rather than the use of a loan. However as is the same with all overdrafts the bank has the legal right to reduce or withdraw any overdraft facility. There is usually a period of 21 days notice given to the indivdual.
  2. Completely made up. It's taken from this article in the business section of the times http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/article6396030.ece so i can't see it being made up. Maybe the quit bit by Shearer is but frankly I doubt it.
  3. Nothing to say the overdraft we have gone into isn't a recent thing
  4. I've been supporting the club for 41 years and I know we've only ever finished in the top 5 for 3 seasons in a row ONCE in all of that time. It happened previously between 1948-1951, so it's the best you've seen as well. I also know for sure that during those 41 years the only time the club has shown any ambition to do anything on the pitch was the period from 1992 through to the departure of the last Board. Nowt personal, but to suggest a return of the ambition of the previous Board is a backward step, implying it would be worse than Ashley is ridiculous imo. Can't deny it won't be better than Ashely (some may remember I didnt want Ashley at the very start due to how he runs businesses) however it's not a big enough step forward for me in fact it's kind of a sideward step for me, and I always worry about the clubs financial state with him in charge. I believe there are better options available.
  5. Voted for by the fans after each match so make of that what you will.
  6. We might actually win a few games at home this season, who wouldn't be there I'll be there as always, supa fan me
  7. But linking to the BBC pages which has the clips won't be of course.
  8. Wish I read this before listening on sky sports news. They way they covered this story he was wanting away to any club who would have him!
  9. Don't be silly, he has 1 year left on his contract and is plus 30, you'll be lucky to get £500k
  10. You would think wouldn't you. Shame it doesn't appear to happen like that any more.
  11. I wouldn't read to much into the guardian they will be guessing as well and just assuming he will stop. Guess it'll just take as long as it takes. The sooner the better in my eyes though.
  12. He took 1 billion out of sports direct, that's his cash to do as he wants with, he doesn't have to worry about sports direct with any of that cash. Any Sports Direct aren't losing money as I understand it, they just aren't worth as much as when Ashley sold part of the business. They still make a cracking profit. The two businesses are separate and shouldn't matter one bit.
  13. Already talked about and posted in the other takeover thread. Here : http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,62278.0.html and here http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,61053.1950.html
  14. Your point is leading to ? Just saying I've read a lot of positive responses to the possibilty of Carver's return, but I remember he used to get ripped apart on these forums when he worked alongside SBR. Draw your own conclusions. My conclusions found that Newcastle fans have to make someone a scape goat even if we don't have a clue what job they do at the club or how well they do it.
  15. Mozy what's made you post this, that would at least help else it might as well get locked.
  16. Ok I have to ask, what are you talking about ?
  17. Can't find what your looking for sticky (http://www.newcastle-online.org/nufcforum/index.php/topic,22334.msg415960.html#msg415960) has been updated to include this now.
  18. Enrique - 2m Coloccini - 3m Bassong - 5m Beye - 0.5m Jonas - 3m Barton - 1m Martins - 6m Smith - 0m Total - 20.5m Hoping Bassong, Enrique and Beye will stay however.
  19. Like I said, the worse performances we put in the more players wages are quoted as. Owen started the season quoted as being on £90 a week. Now the quotes are from £125k per week up to in some places £140k a week. It's crazy. Frankly nobody has a clue what any player is on. Yes we know those who are on high wages but we don't know what those high wages are.
  20. Love how the players weekly wages quoted go up and up the worse a team plays. I have no doubts Duff is not on £70k a week. He'll be on a lot but not £70K a week.
  21. Well it wasn't with me, I wanted that top spot lol
