  1. Rather ironic as it's being said it's Newcastle who have bid £6.3m whilst Spartak want closer to £16m. As I know there's a couple here who are members, here's the link................. http://coys.sportsmaestros.com/index.php?showtopic=104087 Have you ever been right with your ITK-bollocks ever? I can't believe that you just don't give it up, tbh, surely no one believes what this joker says? I've been right often. I'm not saying Newcastle are in for Pavlyuchenko, someone else is. The suggestion is that the agent has told us to try to create a bidding war, don't know if it's true. You can take it or leave it. You have never said anything right ITK wise on here Christ what a Current. Quite a few bits and pieces a few years ago tbf. Fancy pointing any of them out then? Because he's never been able to himself, so you'd be helping us all out.

You just said that we have a £6.3m bid for him, but I suppose that doesn't mean we're in for him As for you being right, you must have a lower ratio than the f***ing News of the World. I am not saying that Newcastle are in for Pavlyuchenko, someone else is saying that Newcastle are in for him. Do you understand now? I am not saying anything, I am passing on something someone else is saying. Time will tell whether it's true or not. I'm passing on information that you're a lying twat who craves the attention on rival fans message boards. Don't shoot the messenger.
  3. Are people excited by the fact we've signed a player without the press hearing about it, or by the fact that it's this particular player?
  4. Again, it's nothing to do with the player himself - I know nowt about him and won't disguise that. I'm just glad we have proved we can do our thing without making a song and dance about it, as you say. Hopefully he'll be a good buy. So what's to admit being wrong about? Has anyone claimed that it's impossible to sign players on the quiet, and that we wouldn't? Admit that people who were complaining about the apparent inactivity of the club were wrong becasue this signing proves conclusively that things ARE happening behind the scenes and no one except those at the club have a clue whats going on, so any arguments slating the club for its aprent inactiviy in the past can be humbly retracted in this thread.... See my post above which gives the same answer. We'll see in time if people were wrong about showing their concerns regarding the transfer policy.
  5. HAHAHAHHA Good work by the club, saw a few mallorca games on the tellybox and he looks decent. Good work by wise et al. Also I think its pronounced Guti-er-ez kinda like its spelt... By all accounts he's going to be known as Jonas, I think that is whats on his shirt. Yeah, but in the Premiership they have to have their full surname. Remember when Hasslebaink first arrived and he had "Jimmy" on his shirt for the first game? Dragutinovic wears simply "Drago" on his shirt. I'd imagine over here he'll have "Gutierrez" on his top. Jordi? Nani? Juninho? None of those are full surnames... Jordi is the exception though. The others are nicknames aren't they? So you're allowed nicknames but not first names? What sort of rule is that?

Has anyone claimed that it's impossible to sign players on the quiet, and that we wouldn't? Plenty have claimed we were doing absolutely nothing in the transfer market. You must have missed them. Despite bids for Modric and Woodgate etc? I can't remember people claiming we're "doing" nothing, just that we were struggling to sign the top class players we need. The main culprit even admits we're signing young players, but that it's not the right approach. It's impossible to tell that signing a right winger that 99% of this country has never seen play is the right approach or not, so I still don't see the point of this thread tbh.

  9. You know full well this thread will get bumped if he turns out to be rubbish. What point are you trying to make? That the club have signed a player most of you haven't heard of, so people should change their minds on whether the board are doing a good job or not? You just looking for an argument with NE5? The point's not whether he's any good or not, nor is it anything to do with NE5. I just wanted to let off some steam (Bennett) at the mongs who've been whinging like little girls since the season ended that we weren't doing anything - purely because there wasn't much in the papers. We ARE doing things behind the scenes, we CAN sign players without the media picking up on it. Have some faith. Let off steam? Chill dude!

  11. Would rather keep Milner tbh, we need the depth more than the money imo and Milner's a good, versatile option for a squad player. You'd rather have Milner than £9m??
  12. Very good player, and hopefully means we can sell Milner for that £9m now. As others have said, it's actually nice to find out about a transfer when it's happened, rather than a month beforehand in the press.
  13. So Clough and Dunn were/are both shit? Jesus wept.
  14. Should probably cash in on him now anyway. Cash is the least of their thoughts tbh
  15. More to the point, where does Essien fit in? It's the same at Man United where they have Hargreaves, Carrick, Fletcher, Scholes etc. Chelsea are building a squad for an assault on all 4 competitions. Letting Lampard leave purely because they've brought one player in just doesn't make sense. Makelele will be going I think, so can they really afford to sell him? What do you envisage the midfield 3 being like (assuming no more transfers and that Scolari will stick with 4-3-3)? I'd have thought: -----------Essien------------ ---Ballack----------Deco---- I think they'll rotate Lampard, Ballack and Deco tbh
  16. Dyer wasn't/isn't shit. We were a much better side when he was in it.

Amazingly, there have actually been quote from him in the press (unlike most stories!). He's basically saying that if Arsenal can make enough money on him he'd like to try playing in another league, but if the offer isn't good enough for Arsenal he's staying put.

  19. Fat, over-rated 20 goals a season midfielder don't you know! Scolari doesn't want Lampard to leave, so I'm not convinced he will. Not down to Scolari, all Lampard has to do is invoke the clause. Maybe Scolari offering him the £150k pw he wants might change his mind, Scolari telling Lampard he doesn't want him to leave won't make a jot of difference. Disagree. Lampard himself wants to stay at Chelsea all of his career, but he wasn't happy with what happened to Mourinho. He wants stability now, and their manager telling him that he wants him to stay will play a huge part on Lampard's decision. Chelsea don't have to sell Lampard. If Chelsea don't want to sell Lampard, they won't. Simple as.
  20. Depends which station you're coming from. Hessle station is a 5 minute walk from the bridge.

Martins has to put a transfer request in first, which means he's not entitled to his pay off if we sell him. Arsenal enquire, so we say £15m. They can't buy him for £13m because Martins hasn't asked to go. A lot of this comes from the Adebayor story, but speaking to Arsenal fans this weekend there's no way he's leaving, so it's a none starter anyway.
