    General press coverage

Some good stuff in The Athletic, time will tell if they can keep it up. Loved George Caulkin's recent piece with Steve Howey.

    Joelinton

Then you are quite clearly a fucking idiot.
  3. It would increase disruption. Those games are also stop start games, so it works given the them 15 seconds or so to make challenge. The periods when a team in football was deciding to challenge something would be a farce, as would the restart if the decison was fine. It just wouldn't work.
  4. VAR referealls from players / managers in football would make it even more of a joke than it already is.
  5. No we didn't You are correct. Got my Lejeune injuries mixed up.

    What were they saying?
  7. I think you are correct, his last goal (before yesterday) was away at Chelsea. Last season.

    St James' Park

Sorry - didn't even read the article as busy - I had wrongly presumed it was about Hadrian's Tower. Good spot -I'll review the Inspectors report and flag to NUST legal advisors.

Precedent been set here? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tyne-50211941?ns_mchannel=social&ns_linkname=english_regions&ns_campaign=bbc_news_north_east&ns_source=twitter No such thing as precedent in planning. Well there is, but it is complicated - each schemed needs to be assessed on its merits and given the policies remain this is very much a reasonable line to take to object. The fact this was approved would carry little to no weight in planning terms.

    Joelinton

Club have claim he is the highest paid player at the club, so this is probably correct.

    Joelinton

We could try doing that even with Joelinton. He clearly doesn't relish high balls winged at him from deep. Get the ball into his feet and see how he gets on. Problem is we don't have enough good possession to get the ball up the pitch where he should be operating. Absolutely. Try playing to his strengths. Which are? I'm intrigued to know what Joelinton's attributes are. Looks to have decent feet in the penalty area on the rare occasion he gets the ball in there. Other than that can't really say until we start getting the ball coming in from decent angles. I'm watching Liverpool v Spurs and Kane gets on the end of an aimless ball hoofed up by a defender. He gets in front of his marker (that's in front of the defender Joelinton) and Son picks up the ball and Spurs nearly score. Why can't our centre forward (cough) do something similar. He is clueless I tell you. Harry Kane is a centre forward and has been a centre forward for a long time. He also has a far better supply. Joelinton has never played this role before in his life, no wonder he looks s****. It's not his fault, he shouldn't be there being asked to do this. Greg, I'm going around in circles with this. Let's cut to the Chase. Do you think Joelinton should be playing in this football team? Yes or no. No.
  12. He made plenty of howlers under Rafa, strange angle to take.
  13. f***ing hell man , look at the supporters in that photo , theres nearly half old women , how times have changed . It looks like hes giving free tickets to the caravan club. Usual East Stand demographic tbh.
  14. Swear he used to get nowhere near the ones he faced for us. Can only remember him saving one ThreatLevel's just pondering the same on Twitter. Only one I can think of is Lampard. David Dunn.

  16. If you don't understand why that wasn't overturned you must have been living in a cave for the last few months. You are really being a dick today I understand it has to be a clear and obvious error or whatever, I’m just saying that it looks a bit silly when the replay clearly shows a foul. This place brings out that side of me sometimes. Well quite often. Could just be that you are a dick. Nah.
  17. And a new manager that knows what they are doing. Spurs 1-0 wow.
  18. And I don't blame him either. It's ridiculous how often the team just flings things in his general direction. However, as a number 9 he is actually a target man. I would expect him to have some sort of hold up play but he has none! He's a ton better when it is being played into his feet, and his hold up and link up is really good when that happens. Launching it at his dome from 50 yards is ridiculous. His hold up play is non existent. You are talking crap! He's not a centre forward and has never had to play with his back to goal and hold up the ball in his life. What the hell do you expect? Not his fault. Not his fault? I despair. You appear to be too thick to debate with rationally.
  19. Yet created our best chance other than goal. Some nice passing today but a few mistakes. Going to happen. Great prospect.

  21. The sad thing is it seems to be his work rate rather than anything else that he rates. Sticking with him in the first XI and kept him on today because he ran a lot. If he played in his true position we might get more glimpses of what he’s actually about. Agreed.
  22. Yet he was instrumental to our end of season form. He's no perfect, no one of our players are but there is definately a more than good enough player in there.
