I know. All I am saying is that, I thought the reaction to it on Twitter was a bit over the top. The tweet was stupid and you certainly wouldn't see products marketed like this in the UK but it seems quite common and normalised in Spain. Need to understand Spanish culture a bit more really. Is Spain a racist country?
-
Is it? Blackface marketing is blacking up something that would otherwise be white. It's certainly questionable and wouldn't be acceptable here, but this thing sells 30 million packets of chocolate a year and in its own culture and there seems to be no issue with it in its own culture.

If he had compared the image with a golliwog, or other similar figures or images used historically as anti-black in a racist connotation then what you say is correct. The image with the spear by the way - isn't their image / logo and hasn't been for some time. Like I said, it was a stupid tweet. I just thought the reaction was over the top. Need to understand Spanish culture to really understand this here. I've spent the last hour or so reading about this and it's a very complex and confusing area. Their views / standards in this area are clearly very different to ours.

You don't look very closely then, first of all his team mate that was subject of the tweet responded in kind. The rest were mainly people going off it and calling him out as a racist.
-
Anyway he's deleted the tweet now. Which is to be expected. It was stupid. I still think the reaction was massively over the top.
-
Strange stance to take to show that you knew who the character was. It's more the fact it seems lookalikes and comparisons are only fine if they're white and it's only non Spanish white people that seem to find this offensive. It's just a bit odd.
-
These chocolates in every shop in Spain. It’s not questioned in Spain but I guess wouldn't be used here but I still think this is a massive over reaction.
-
That's subjective though. It's only white people that are finding this offensive. Stupid and naive tweet but I find the reaction ridiculous.
-
I'm seriously a little confused here, a picture of his team mate as a child looks a bit like a character from a well known Spanish chocolate brand. Team mate responds and finds it funny. Perhaps a little naive to put this on Twitter, but the reaction is crazy. So are only white people allowed to be used for funny/joke comparisons? I really don't get the jumping all over this and don't see any racism.

What's wrong?

Everyone kicking off in the comments for no reason.

Lee Clark Robbie Elliott Pavel Srnicek Nobby Solano Need one more. Not counting Lovenkrands as he didn't play for anyone else in his small gap away.

No. He's also a lying c*** over the reasons for his move to Liverpool. Yup, surprised people have forgotten how that move went down. He made sure it happened. Nah. If you believe the club there's something wrong with you. Not enamoured by his return, but all that was manufactured by the club to try and appease the masses and blame Carroll for the sale. Clubs can't force players to leave. No doubt in my mind it was all over money. Yes the £35 million quid Mike Ashley laughing all the way to the bank.

What a fucking shite delivery.

He changed it again at half time.

Close.

What have the players been told to do? They are literally just standing in the formation, not moving at all. Not pressing. Doing fuck all. What the fuck has Bruce told them? This is awful.
-
We're all over the place. This is horrific. Against Brighton. Christ.
-
Brighton should have scored.
