How many times have you been to Newcastle? Three. I'm not saying it's rampant or anything, but it is fairly prevalent just like most other monoethnic parts of the world I wouldn't go as far as to say that it is 'fairly prevalent' but it certainly happens, I hear racist abuse direct towards our own players at every match from my seat in the Gallowgate end. I very rarely here racist abuse / remarks when out and about in Newcastle though.

SSN: Scott Parker gets Football Writers' Player of the Year
Greg replied to Interpolic's topic in Football
Yep, only looks good when all around him are utterly shit, was the same when he was here. -
many players do it as a superstition in the hope of a good performance, don't see why an official shouldn't be superstitious also. yes ive seen players do it when they score a goal, but doing after a successful net check seemed a little OTT I would have thought it would have more to do with hoping he puts in a good performance in the second half than celebrating checking the net. Players often do stuff like this when coming on to the pitch.

A playmaker with 1 assist to his name this season.

'Owen bemused by Newcastle booing' is the main headline on BBC Sport.

Great answer. I agree.

It's just saying that Ben Arfa is a good, genuine football person and going on about him going to the Gateshead game at the weekend.

Discussed on this and the previous page.

Is there anywhere I can get a full quote from? But you'll probably have to pay.

His goals apart I thought he was quite average against Man City myself and today he was woeful. I'm probably like a broken record I know but I truly believe as a footballer he is really average and although he will cause a side problems with his height and strength a smart defender or tactics would easily nulify him in my opinion. a lot of goalscorers would be classed like that. Not £35m ones shearer wouldn't have got a game for us in midfiled and that was a world record fee. You've lost me there. he was the equivlient of the current 35mill striker and never seemed to be a brilliant footballer, just very effective at scoring goals and leading the line. like carroll. Don't agree with that, think Shearer was twice as good on the deck. Not to mention being cleverer and more sensible... and carrolls better in the air. carroll is also better on the deck than he's given credit for. Better than he is given credit for, maybe. Better than Shearer? No chance. andy carroll can go past a man with the ball more often than shearer ever used to. neither are fantastic footballers, shearer was on his own as a goalscorer but then he was the most expensive player in the world, carroll isn't. Go past a man with the ball more often than Shearer? I couldn't disagree more, not sure where you're getting that from. years of watching. You seem to only remember Shearer post injury at Everton.

You need to get your hearing tested.

I've seen a few players in there, mainly Wigan players though.

He did.

3 games he's shoehorned him or Campbell in for no reason and 3 defeats to opposition that have been equivilent standard to us this season is no coincidence. He can't learn quickly enough to stop dicking about with the back 4 IMO. the worst thing is thats what he started off his career here doing, its not like its a recent development Didn't have much choice picking them two at the start with Colo and Williamson suspended tbh.

Bramble was nowhere near as bad as a lot on here are claiming, he made plenty of mistakes leading to goals but he didn't do it every week, he wouldn't have played over 100 Premier League games here if was making mistakes as often as lot of you are suggesting. On his day he's a very good central defender.
-
Good 'keeper at times, makes some amazing saves but you can't play at the top level and make mistakes like that on a regular basis. Titus Bramble of goalkeepers.

Everything is coming out of the 'Carroll cash' and other revenue streams, the money will be in the club account not in Dekkas top drawer waiting to be spent on a new player in the summer.

japan played a few years back. i suppose thay could say the same about israel and some of the former USSR playing in the euro's. What's the reasoning behind japan playing, spain potentially playing? Because there are only 10 teams in CONMEBOL which is a pretty difficult number to run a tournament with so they invite 2 outside teams. aye didn't the US or mexico (or both) play a little while back aswell. Aye Mexico and USA in 2007, Mexico and Costa Rica in 2004, Mexico, Costa Rica and Hunduras in 2001 (total farce, Argentina pulled out), Mexico and Japan in 1999 etc.
