  1. Good news, now hopefully that'll stop any minor injuries occurring. I always get confused, and slightly annoyed, that people seem to believe that our training pitches are concrete blocks or something. The fields up at Darlsey Park are some of the softest fields around, really spongy. I suppose sliding/slipping straining injuries could be caused by that, but certainly not broken bones! It's because Souness said they were too hard.
  2. Gateshead is applying to become a city for some reason. Don't you need a cathedral to be given city status ? Nay. Not any more. Fit for a City is actually the name of their regeneration strategy, I very much doubt they'll get city status.
  3. Less than a week ago the table said otherwise. Did that mean that last week Lovenkrands was good enough to be a striker for a top half team? Lovenkrands isn't first choice. In fact he's started roughly half as many games as Williamson. We didn't sell our best central defender in January. Since Carroll was sold Lovenkrands has started 11 out of our 12 games.
  4. Amazing that only one worker died during construction looking at those photos.
  5. Why do you listen to it if you think it's so shite?
  6. Is that Marcelino on Revista La Liga, surprised he didn't cry off injured.
  7. Half of Darras Hall is on the market.
  8. It was scrapped. Now the rule is the same as for say throw ins or whatever, i.e no specific time, but you can't intentionally time-waste. It wasn't, it is still in the laws of the game, you just don't see refs enforce it very often.
  9. Touchy Just saying. I was at the game, horrible game and atmosphere in the away end, arguments and fights breaking out over Souness ffs.
  10. Well the first one you posted is at St. James' Park.
  11. Agree with Otter about the train, I'm done with going on the coach.
  12. God I had forgot about all those fucking 1 nil defeats at Wigan. I've been on some horrible away trips but the memories I have from the good times will stay with me forever (especially some of the European trips) and I can quite easily forget the shite.
  13. The bastards gave me a fine when we played Swansea away, I didn't have enough change and they didn't take cards!
  14. why did you get thrown out of anfield Greg? Bloke in the row in front called me a fat bastard so I grabbed him by the throat and told him to shut the fuck up. Both got ejected.
  15. Getting thrown out of Anfield. Spending 16+ hours on a coach to go to Fratton Park to see the worst game of football ever, 0-0 and I don't think either side had a shot on target. You say all that about Barnsley but give me an away day at a ground like Oakwell over one of these new flat pack stadiums any day of the week.

  17. His latest goal ratio is absolute s****. Why settle with a player of his calibre when we should/can get a player with decent goal ratio? "Do a good job"/work hard is more of a job for the midfield. We need goal scorers. As this season (and many other seasons) has proved, we also need a few squad strikers who are reliable and capable of doing a good job when needed. Doyle will do that. So will Shola and Leon Best. We need to sign quality not shite.
  18. I hope we don't find out, we need to be signing quality players not ones on a similar level to Shola and Best.

    Sunderland...

Don't know what all the areas of town are called. The hotel I usually use is near the bridge and other than that basically just sjp and the areas downtown with lots of booze/food Drunken idiots saying stupid idiotic stuff, doesn't count for the vast majority of people in Newcastle, at least not to the level of it being 'very bad' as you said. I can see it might seem that way if the three times you've been over here you've heard some bad stuff, but I think I can count on one hand the amount of racist comments I've heard in my life time living in Newcastle... most of them from my Nana. I'm not saying the lot of you are skinheads or anything, just that it's relatively prevalent. Which is partly understandable since there are still probaly a lot of people who don't have extensive interaction(or at least not positive interaction) with people of other races. I'd have a fair bit more opportunity to witness racist abuse than you would, for obvious reasons. (apologies if I'm making incorrect assumptions here!) But it's not relatively prevalent out and about in Newcastle, you are talking utter bollocks.

Yep, apart from the bit about your Nana, mine is dead.
