I don't think I've ever rated Guthrie, he's too inconsistent as he'll have one good game, 2 ok ones and then a game where he just won't turn up. I've always thought he lacks heart, if he has the ball then he'll do something but if he loses it he shows no interest in winning it back which is a terrible trait for a CM. Others say he's better than Gosling but I'd much rather give Gosling a chance instead of Guthrie

The commentary I was listening to yesterday the commentator kept referring to the stadium as "The First Direct Stadium" I'm still unsure if he is actually clueless or intentionally trying to piss off the club by slyly saying it's never going to work.

As much as I love HBA I think he's the closest player we have in our current squad who we can compare to Laurent Robert. Their playing styles are worlds apart but when either of them have the ball anything is possible, but the work rate if they dont have the ball isn't up to the standards of those around them. Equally I think Pardew's treatment of HBA is a little similar to Souness' treatment on Robert although I genuinely believe Pardew is trying to get HBA to raise his game as opposed to Souness who didn't like players with skill.

Hard fought result, couldn't be happier with the front two, solid performance from Guthrie and as much as it pains me to say it, Shola did well.
