Hell even under SBR our most regular starting centre backs were what Dabizas, Bramble and O'Brien? And the Caldwell brothers. Our defence individually was horrific under Bobby but as a unit they did ok.

I can't even remember a time we had good squad depth in defence.

Difference is Best did most of the leg work and link up with Ba whilst Ba concentrated on scoring the goals. Now we have two strikers in the same mould which makes 4-4-2 really awkward as they don't work for each other.

The one saving grace so far

I remember when we beat Arsenal 1-0 in our first season back. Every time they got a corner it was pressure off. We're now that team. Funny how we used to be so good at them under Hughton.
