Seriously? Ferdinand was pretty average last year, been poorer this year but I still think given his teammates he's done better than Ramage. May well be an exaggeration, but not by much. He wouldn't improve our team imo, so I wouldn't want us to sign him. Would you rather have Ferdinand or Ramage playing? If you had to have one. With respect mate that's a bit of a pointless question because I wouldn't want either. If I'm going to answer though I'd say Ramage, because to select Ferdinand the club would have to spend money to make him our player and I wouldn't want that to happen. It doesn't matter to me if in realty he is slightly better than Ramage because I just don't think he's good enough. We need to sign players that can improve our level and I don't think he would do that. Signing him would be a waste of money and enough has already been wasted in the last few years.

Can't imagine why anyone would think Zog is our best midfielder right now. He's had one good season and has potential but that's it. I WAS referrign to the Zog, yes. He may not have reached his full potential yet, but he has still shown that he has more than any of the others. For me, anyway. He 'potentially' has more than the others. Last season he was good, this season he's been s****. If that qualifies him as our best midfielder we are in more trouble than I thought. Who do you think is our best midfielder, out of interest? Butt. At what he does. Emre. At what he does. Neither are actually good enough for what I want from the team though. See, i think ZOG is better at what HE does than either of those, overall. But hey, its all about opinions (even them wrong ones about Luque being good). Aye, true enough. But he was s*** this season. You're going by last season but that's the past. He's shown himslef to be better than Duff, so is by default our best left winger. He was very good last season for me, better than any of our midfielders have been consistently this season. Remains to be seen actually. Add that for some reason Zog apparently sees himself as a CM and it becomes interesting, especially as he's looked shite whenever he's had a game in CM.

And he's nowhere near half the player either. Lee was solid defensively, but theres no way he could win half the challenges Parker can. No matter what other areas of Parker's game may be, hes a quality slide tackler, even if he does get caught out once in a while. Lee wasnt. Lots of last ditch sliding tackles = lack of ability to anticipate and read the game. It's not a positive, it's a negative. Same can be said of Butt then... As has been highlighted in this thread, Viduka isn't s*** and has never been s***, the problem is his reputation for a bad attitude and his apparent laziness. What he actually does on the field has shown for sometime now that he's a decent player but the attitude thing causes some people to call him s**** when he isn't, but that's what some people do, like. That would give us 3 strikers, which is better than just 2.

I agree. The short period he's had on the pitch he's shown a lot of potential imo. He has a level of composure about him that's really impressive imo.

Parker can pass decently, he just lacks the confidence and self belief in his own ability to the extent that he wont even try a remotely difficult through ball. Butt cant pass for s***, but that wont stop him trying to set teamates away early, or attempting to spread the play crossfield on his first touch. Dyer simply has no passing range whatsoever. When in central midfield, he wont pass beyond the nearest man. Hes a quality player for us, but central midfield is not his position, and he should only be used there in games where we are looking to counter against slow and defensively weak central midfielders. I think a Parker Dyer midfield could work for specific games, but it would be pretty lightweight defensively, so only in games where there isnt much of an attack threat from the opposition central midfield. Total tosh, tbh. Parka's passing is very, very poor, it's his main limitation along with his slow brain pointed out by Shaman. Butt's passing ability is several notches higher than Parka. Dyer's main strength is his ability to run beyond the strikers, not pass in a flowing and expansive fashion like other creative players, there's no point in comparing him with Parker and Butt, as you more or less got to in the end by saying he's not a CM. No reason for you to have commented on him in the context of this thread, tbh.
