happy new year you collective bag of twats! love you all and hope we all have a great year ahead

Decent excuse to be fair And then what will happen when we have another summer window were the squad problems weren't addressed? A little bit of positivity wouldn't go amiss, even if you think you have no reason to think you should be hopeful. It's what being a football fan is all about. I dont think that's such an unreasonable ask! Afterall, pro or anti-Ashley, we all want the club to succeed regardless of who is in charge. The trouble with some of the anti-Ashley brigade is that some of them talk as if Keegan was the only manager we could have succeeded under.

That would be a brilliant bit of business!!

corrected your obvious error midds. tbh, in terms of doing their jobs, Wise has done his better than Keegan in that time frame. The feel good factor at the time, that the club was moving forward, was not due to Keegan returning, but rather due to the combination of having a new owner, an eloquent and professional chairman, and a new "scouting/deal sealer" mechanism in place. Keegan's return was just the cherry on top.

huntington, ramage, edgar, pattison, o`brien, shola, chopra, taylor.. all given chances.. just not good enough. Wouldn't matter if they were. We demand instant success so they would not be allowed a chance. Do we? And what about Steven Taylor? The amount of chances he's been given off certain quarters of the fans due to his local status. At the end of the day most of the kids we've produced lately haven't been good enough, that's why they haven't been given a chance. With Steven Taylor though. you could see from early on that he has the potential to be a top flight footballer. With Ramage, Chopra, Pattison and O'Brien you could see something was missing. Shola rode the wave of manager instability, and acquitted himself quite well with a decent if unspectacular scoring record. Tbh though, I really thought something would come of Huntington. Maybe his attitude wasn't that of a pro, and he was moved on. I quite like the look of Kazenga, and want to see him given more game time, especially as a 2nd half sub where he can inject a dose of pace and enthusiasm into the side no matter who we're playing. Would also like to see Harper wished well and released, so we can start seeing what Krul and Forster are all about.

I see what you're saying. But do you honestly think if he had publicly said he grew up a Spurs fan, that the fans would accept it? Honestly now!

Decent excuse to be fair the complacency has set in before the window has opened,... yup. but so have the finger-pointing and blame

Coloccini was gash against Liverpool. Don't think we'll see many performances like that from him though tbh. He's much better than he was yesterday.
-
excellent point! It's up to the management and players to learn from the defeat, pick themselves up and go out to perform in the next game
-
Habib, get well soon son Cattermole, get f***ed you mutant c***!!

We certainly were woeful for most of the match, and all outfield players definitely need a good bollocking after that non-performance. However, we did improve for very short spells and looked like having the ability on the park to claw ourselves back into the game. But everytime that happened, Liverpool would either score, or a decision would go against us. Owen's goal should have stood. What happens next? Hyppia scores, heads go down. Heads go up again after Edgar's goal. What happens next? Lucas handballs in our area before that softshite goal by Babbel. Heads go down again. We have another bit of a spell before Geremi cracks the crossbar, then Liverpool go back down the other end and score. That was when the players' heads went down again permanently. No we did not deserve anything from the game performance wise, but I've seen us play worse and win.

..is how I feel about it too

you'd know about those wouldn't you Jon :colo: Back to KLL: Thought he was lively, and JK at least got that one right bringing him on and saving Owen.

Good of the club my f***ing anus - nobody will pay his price so he attempts to get back in in - and there are complete idiots who actually buy it. Also the timing meant to deflect from the Bobby Robson day should see the c*** shot. Nah, howay man, he loves the club. The man can f*** off. He's been feeding the media with little bits here, little bits there, to pave the way for this. He's as dishonest as the day is long and has no backbone whatsoever. He's a cretin and an opportunist. As long as he remains we will go nowhere from this point, look forward to Kinnear getting a new deal in the summer, more limited net spending and more empty seats. I can see crowds of 35K next season unless he spends big in Jan, again in the summer and appoints a top manager. Will it happen? Will it f***. f***s sake. And when things don't improve under his control? What then will your stance be? I suspect you'll be screaming f***s sake at Ashley. they were improving until a combination of keegan bottling it and the fans "protest" f***ed up our season. And why did KK walk out and why did fans protest? Aye, you conveniently ignored that very critical element didn't you, not surprisingly. Answer the question. This time next season if Joe Kinnear is still manager, we are still stuck below mid-table and our squad still hasn't been strengthened sufficiently, what will your stance be? sounds a bit like NE5 there

No you play the advantage, then if they are fouled again give the foul...whats the point of the advantage if the only way you can get that advantage is by scoring? Because it's the law of the game. The original foul is that which counts. Fair enough to Dean, it was probably a red card, but should have been pulled back for a free kick, as it wasn't advantage. Not actually true Jonny, if the advantage gets played and there's another foul in the box you give a penalty. I haven't seen this one yet though. It wasnt like it was a clip of the heels - advantage - foul - penalty, it was one long hustle and bustle between 2 players in which one went down only when he was in the area. Aye, you're right actually. It could have been construed as one long foul, meaning it was a free kick. Again, not quite true, if it's a continuous foul into the box, you still give the penalty. It's in the laws somewhere. Still haven't seen this one to comment but by the sound of it he's waited til he's got into the box then thrown himself over in hope. That is exactly what's happened. Was offside to begin with

I see Jonas being given 6's and 7's all around. He was quite shit tbh, and that is an understatement. Our best players were Viduka and Guthrie (who incidentally had a woeful first half, and only saved face with a terrific 2nd half) -
Heskey dived Heskey was fouled 30 yards from goal, and the linesman flagged Heskey was offside to begin with

Goals were flowing past because Coloccini wasn't defending properly? The point is, Coloccini, even in his worse games, has been the best central defender this club has had since Albert & Howey. If not better. Should not forget Woodgate, even though he wasnt here for too long and also got him self injured, but he for sure was one great defender! I have not forgotten Woodgate at all. But he was here one and a half seasons, and barely played for us (28 games or so?). Coloccini is well on his way to going past that in his first season alone, and he does not look injury prone to me, having played every game for Depor last season. Fingers crossed, knock on wood and all that, long may it continue.

fail tbh seeing as it's crimbo too, it's a holiday fail. unless you're just back from the pub, I'm not willing to forgive and forget
-
That's a good post. Would be good if that happened as at least it would leave executive matters in the hands of a positive and ambitious professional. Mort may not be an expert on football, but at least he understands the importance of transparency, and reacts to situations.

No he wasn't he was pretty poor when he first joined. That's you being pedantic. I don't consider a few shaky moments in his first few games getting adjusted to this league "poor". As far as I can remember he failed to man-mark for Everton's 2nd goal, but that's about it. Everything else should be considered part of his learning to adapt.
