Complete bollocks. Once again, the protest is being peformed away from the ground so it does not have an effect on the team. If anything a few hundred people marching together to the match may create some sorely needed atmosphere. Have you read the interviews? They're laughably bad and Llambias comes across as a t***. Right. And you don't think there will be a militant atmosphere inside the ground once the match has kicked off? People will be running high on emotion. And although there will be a sensible element among the protesters, many many mongs will be there, and if we go a goal down let's say. the high emotions will compound the situation and we could have that absolutely idiotic lull around the stadium like we did against Hull. This protest is bad news, and I just hope it will be so lightly attended so as not to create the effect it could end up having on the game. The Everton game at home is one of those winnable ones at least.

Joe Kinnear has triple heart bypass surgery, home on Sunday
WhatTheFunk replied to JH's topic in Football
It is quite serious. It was touch and go whether my old man had to have it a couple years back, and I'm glad he didn't need it in the end tbh. His ticker is back to full function now, but it's not an op to be taken lightly. Get well soon Joe. -
Hughton and Calderwood 'will continue to take charge of first team'
WhatTheFunk replied to jimmymag's topic in Football
It could be until they decide on the new guy. At this point Joe returning is impossible. There is absolutely no telling how long it will take him to really recover. You can't keep the seat warm and have him feeling he has to rush his recovery as that would be dangerous and stupid. Agree with this. Yup it's risky business. Kinnear's health is a worry, and his well-being should be more important to the club than his return to management. Sucks that we have to take a risk on CH and CC, but all we can do is wish them good luck and hope the club will have already started the search for a new manager. -
Cheers "Around 50 of the Newcastle United Supporters Club (NUSC) who turned out at its first public meeting agreed to continue the action launched after Kevin Keegan’s departure." Not sure those 50 people are still keeping it up after 6 months and the failure to sell up as promised. pwned tbh

Unlucky Cole not to score there
-
too right. and he has been for a large number of years now.
-
tragedy really. How Downing and SWP get games ahead of him I'll never know.
-
give him a break man. he's been socking it to the critics lately with a ton of goals, which is what he should be doing really.

I'm upset about the fact that the club just blew off a golden opportunity to amicably cut ties with Joe Kinnear and appoint a manager that's actually qualified for the job that can save us from relegation in the short term and offer some mid-table stability for a few years. Who the f*** was talking about CL qualification? Instead, they've chosen to take a massive gamble on our Premiership status by leaving us effectively managerless until the end of the season, all because they're desperate to offer a long term contract to a manager who's not only f***ing s***, completely insane, and utterly out of his depth, but who also shouldn't be doing the job for his own health's sake. What about that decision makes sense to you? I'd really like to know. Nothing about the decision makes any sense to me! I never said that. All I said was, what or who the hell were people expecting us to bloody employ? Guus Hiddink? Phil Scolari? Do you really believe that Ashley thinks Kinnear is a better manager than those two? Do you really believe Ashley continues to employ Kinnear because he thinks he's the dog's bollocks of football management? Besides. I'll think about maybe busting a nut when the club confirm via the official website that Hughton is in charge for the rest of the season, with NO new manager coming in, and that Kinnear has in fact signed "the contract" and will be staying on for 2 more seasons. I wasn't expect Scolari or Hiddink. What I was expecting was having a manager at all. There are plenty of managers out there currently with a Championship club or unemployed that we could bring in to keep us up and give us stability for a couple of years. The fact that they didn't even try was worse than criminal. You know that Kinnear will sign the contract on his hospital bed and will be here for the foreseeable future. That's the only logical explanation. Ok mate. Give me a link to where it states for a fact that "they didn't even try". Thanks. I'm sure they approached plenty of managers in the 24 hours since they realized Kinnear had to have surgery before reaching their decision to do nothing. Yes 24 hours. 24 f***ing hours and you are outraged that we might be anouncing that we are to appoint CH as caretaker. We have a fella with a heart condition who may or may not be going into surgery tomorrow and I for one wouldn't be the heartless fucker who you suggest should have sat by Kinnears bed and demand he resigns or is sacked to 'amicably' cut ties. Christ, of course CH will be in charge, and over the coming days or weeks maybe it will be decided that we have to bring in other people, maybe a new manager if one can be found. But this outrage that Chris has taken charge when we should be ripping apart the management and backroom staff again after 24 f***ing hours, and to top it all, that that somehow that confirms that we are intent on having JFK here long term is just rubbish. Rubbish. A voice of reason. At last. AMEN!! -

Erm, no offence, but you come across as a bit of a prick there. If this report is true then people have a right to be upset. The man isnt a manager and we will be going into our most important run in since 1996 without a manager in charge of the team. Even Terry Venables would be a far better choice until the end of the season. Appointing a coach, and nothing more than a coach as manager when we are in such a position as we are would be a massive massive mistake. I'm with you 100%. But I won't be lynching any cockneys until this is confirmed by the club. Fair enough. Its nothing to do with cockneys or nationality with me, I just want someone whos a manager, whos fairly respectable, and who can keep us up in charge. I would love if we were able to get someone longterm in now, someone decent, but I cant see it. I look forward to the chairmans explanation on offering Joe a long term contract in the press tomorrow. I can't wait to hear what he says. I can't wait either. And trust me....I don't want Kinnear anywhere near managing the first team. But this unfortunately is the reality. Again, all i'm saying, and this goes to Oldtype as well.....is wait for official word before you panic!! I'd love it if they leaked nonsense just to see how fans would react. You know Mike, with the way this club has been run, and how it's been as much about PR as anything else, I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised. -

When the NUSC first started up, their communication was worse than that of two pubes on a camel's left bollock. Since then, they've pulled their finger out slightly, and have gained slightly more credibility. Personally still want nothing to do with them until they have gained enough experience to be a true supporter's club.

Some of you lot really are fucking hilarious What the fuck are you upset about? Us missing out on the CL next season? Get it through your thick brains! Our club is in turmoil, and has been for the last 3 or 4 years. The public/world/football opinion of NUFC in that time has been of a piece of shit mickey mouse club. We have a massive storm to weather, whether we like it or not. Chris Hughton, Ray Houghton, or not. Grow the fuck up some of you ffs!! -
Llambias Q&A with Chronicle: OP updated with Thursday's articles
WhatTheFunk replied to a topic in Football
If the NUSC weren't getting so much press coverage with their demands for communication from the club you can be sure this interview would never have happened. Thats rubbish I'm afraid. The club had said before Xmas they would talk after the transfer window. NUSC had sweet FA to do with the interview or the future meeting. In fact I don't even know if anyone on NUSC is part of the meeting, they might be I don't know. The club said just after christams they'd be speaking in the new year (Ashley's programme notes for the Liverpool game). That never happened though so Kinnear said it would be after the transfer window. Then he said it would be the end of the season that they'd talk to supporters groups. Now Llambias points out they're regularly talking to supporters groups. Nobody at the club is reading from the same page. Anyhow, why did they feel the need to break from their policy of silence, if not due to the pressure they were under? It's been known by the people who go to the meetings it would be February for a long time. I don't care what JK said how much of what he says is true anyway I think you're confusing meetings with fan representatives (stewarding, prices etc.) with broader communication (Club direction, transfer policy, who's running the club etc.). Llambias hasn't even been involved with the former has he? I think (assume) that's all Llambias is on about when he mentions the meetings with the fans. He hasn't been involved with those yet but he is in february from what I understand. Mort was included in the last lot though. I'll not count my chickens that he will just yet, but I was on about the latter. Would you Adam and Eve it? I hear Llambias has only gone and cancelled his promised appearance at the February get together. *SHOCK* *HORROR* Long live open dialogue and communication. mackems.gif What a f***ing joke. No surprise to see this post has been ignored though. I'll just keep bumping it to quieten the gullible. Most of the papers have gone with Kinnear needing heart surgery so if that's the case then it's understandable that talking to a fans forum isn't top priority and getting together with club directors to work out what they plan to do about the managerial situation is. It comments like this from NUSC that make them look like self important arseholes. You're a betting man Baggio. What odds will you give me that Keegan wins an £8M constructive dismissal payout next month and Lambarse uses it to justify spending nowt in the summer? If he did (he also mentioned the £4m we're owed for Milner which will go on transfers) how would you expect the club to pay out more when we're up s*** creek in debt! Ahh no I'm sorry just chase the current board out and we'll get that Billionaire in that NUSC have lined up. Yeah. We were "told" the club had £100M of debt when Ashley arrived which was now completely cleared. We were "told" the Ashley would invest £20M a season in the first team. But after 2 years he's £2M in profit on transfers. We were "told" he would sell the club. We were "told" Lambarse would meet the NUSC in February. Forgive me if I don't see what they say as the gods honest. In his own words, "Actions speak louder than words" and the only actions we've seen have left us as relegation bait. We should have an ostrich smiley -
Apologies. Have I missed people talking about it? I thought it was major news. I can't believe it's true. It's irrelevant. He was never going to sign it. He was going in the summer.
