Alright Mr Pedant! The clowns and conmen can be got rid of without relegation imho. Is that better? And I can't understand what Dave is on about, are you saying that it'll be cost effective to get relegated?
-
Load of shite on .com in their Liverpool report saying that relegation could be a good thing so that we can have a clearout. We can have a clearout without getting fucking relegated! Idiots!

I would have thought that player's morale is helped when there are a set of rules that apply to everyone so that the so called "stars" of the squad can't take the piss out of the club and their team mates by turning up for "work" when they feel like it, for example. That type of indiscipline can only foster resentment amongst the players which will be reflected in results. Going back to CG's original post, I'm all for Barton being hung out to dry because that sends out the clearest of messages, both inside the club and to the wider football world, that the club aren't going to be taken for mugs in the future by players who only want to come here for the easy money. I know we will lose millions on Barton as an asset, but I think it's worth it if it's the start of a new era of professionalism led by Alan Shearer.

Portsmouth's policy under Redknapp has pretty much bankrupted them though. Isn't Everton a better example?
-
"amid the fall-out from his imprisonment for assaulting Ousmane Dabo, one of his Manchester City team-mates at the time, in training." Total bollocks, Barton was jailed for beating up a kid in Liverpool and the Dabo case didn't get to court until almost the end of his sentence for the original offence. What do these fucking journos get paid for? Lazy twats!

It's not anger we need it's unswerving, loud vocal support from start to finish. Any kind of reaction from the comotosed lot would be nice. Anger will do fine for me if it means that the volume of vocal support is turned up a level. Do you want to explain to me how anger directed at the players is going to come across as "vocal support"? I agree with the gist of your post that there are far too many bandwagon merchants who don't know how to support a team that is playing shite and are low on confidence. Perhaps they should listen to a tape of our game at Stoke as I thought their support was superb. Loud, constant and unswerving, that's why they've got one of the best home records in the division.
-
Because most managers in the game like to think they can tame the wild players, it doesn't always work out that way though. Sam Allardyce's ego to be precise. Hopefully the fat one will take him off our hands in the summer because his ego is still one of the biggest in the game and he probably still thinks he can tame the psycho.

Theres also a difference between having your own opinion and repeating verbatim what the anti-Newcastle media say. As for this - I hope it works I doubt it will. If you know what verbatim means you'll show me the link to the media that I've copied word for word. Idiot!

Barton's not a 12 year old kicking it about in the park, he's a highly paid professional footballer with one of the worst on/off field records in the history of football in this country. Get real man, Barton is a psychopath and we are paying his wages, and that's got to end.
-
Same here. I accept that we're down now, we're definitely playing in the Championship next year.. Have you come to that conclusion following the defeat of Hull tonight? I'd be interested in your thought process if that's the case.

There's a difference between passion and off your fucking head!

Well if this article is to be believed then both Shearer and Barton won't be at NUFC next season. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/premteams/newcastle/article2411707.ece?OTC-RSS&ATTR=Newcastle
-
We're still fighting boys and girls, well not really, it's just the other teams are trying to prove that they're more shite than our lot. But we're still in with a chance when we should be dead and buried. Is it going to be typical NUFC making us suffer until the final minute of the final game of the season and then disappointing us? Or is it going to be last minute glory with the mackems going down instead of us, or as 2nd prize Hull going down with their mackem manager? From where I'm sitting I wouldn't call it exciting, it's gut wrenchingly tense and the tension rises with every minute of every game played by the possible relegation candidates. I still believe we can do it and a win against the Smoggies will go a long way to proving me right.

I've seen the tackle numerous times and IMO it was dangerous at best, and probably reckless and again imo it deserved a straight red card. Shearer won't waste his time appealing and is instead ensuring that we don't have to pay the idiot at least 2 weeks wages and putting him on the market.
-
Correct. aye. It should be shit or bust, but then again......
-
I've warned you about your mood swings.
-
Fucking hell man! Do you post that sort of shit just to get a reaction?
-
A couple of Villa fans on the other match thread not very confident that they'll win. They fucking better! Come on Jimmy Milner!
-
You got the point eventually.
-
I'll say it again, players get sent off all of the time. 4 red cards isn't excessive at all IMO for a midfielder. It was a poor tackle, not as bad as Smith's attempt though. I wasn't surprised because tbh I think in part he has been the victim of a witch hunt this year, the initial cause of it self inflicted obviously. The Arsenal game, the Villa game, the Sunderland game, every time he gets in his car......... It was a stupid tackle, but not worthy of the red card, or the "never play for the club again" bollocks that's been spouted on here since. Your ignoring Barton's other misdemeanours on the training ground and when on the piss. The guy's got a screw loose, and we're better off without him.
-
And none of us would be surprised if, given the chance, he let's us down again in the future. There comes a time when someone has to say enough is enough, he's had his last chance, and I think Shearer's that man.
-
is this thread a final admittance that I was right ? We'd probably be worse off if Shepherd had still been in charge and got us relegated under Allardyce last season. We could well have been struggling to stay in the Coca Cola following administration and a points deduction. Despite this, I can't wait to see the back of Ashley.
-
You'd probably damage your pushbike.
-
Yeah, I suggested something along these lines a few days ago, but was roundly criticised because it was "too early to judge him", apparently... If Hughton had still been in charge I reckon we would have 2 points less than we have now and would be all but relegated.
