Liked this one, it must have been taken before metartarsal injuries became common. And imagine Joey Barton playing in a pair of those.

Yeah give him a pay as you play deal but with a twist, how about £10k a point based on someone on here like Ronaldo's player ratings. I picked Ronaldo because he's the hardest fucker to please and it would save the club a few quid.

What are you saying man? Why would any Newcastle supporter want Hull to win on Saturday? Do you enjoy being put through the wringer? If you got your wish and both Hull and Newcastle win on Saturday then we'd be sweating on the mackem's game v Pompey and, more importantly, we could still go down on the last day of the season. I'd much prefer us to beat Fulham and Hull lose on Saturday to virtually guarantee our Premiership survival, and fuck what the mackem's do, but obviously hoping that they lose both of their games and Hull somehow beat the Mancs' 3rd team on the last day of the season to send the unwashed down.

It must have been great man management to inspire Viduka to perform like that, and Shearer must have insisted that other players got the ball into Viduka's feet at every opportunity. It was also great to see Oba make straight for Shearer after scoring, shows that Oba wants to please Shearer which shows a lot of respect.

all you've done tonight is moan. c***. very brave. Try answering the question Did Guthrie have a good game against pompey? In fact....do you think he had a good game tonight?! (apart from corners) I thought Guthrie had a good game tonight bearing in mind that he was playing out of position. He's our only midfielder that is capable of putting his foot on the ball and controlling the play and will be seen to much better effect in the centre of the park.
-
He was immense tonight and has justified his salary for the year with that one performance.

similar to this Our confidence is so brittle right now that if we beat Boro I think it'll give us the boost we need to subsequently do enough to stay up. I totally agree, that's why Boro is the must win game.
-
I wouldn't argue if that's the line up, most of our best players are in it. If Smith doesn't make it I'd go for Guthrie ahead of Nolan though. Guthrie should be in before Smith imo. We need someone who can pick a pass in midfield otherwise it's going to be hit and hope which will not be playing to the strengths of our forwards.

Monday's game is a lot bigger than the Pompey game. This one really is a must win game.

It's not an assumption, it's blind faith.

I could murder a pint.

It'll be the first time Shearer can tell the players that it's in their hands now. They better not let us down!!!
-
Thank fuck for that!!!
-
Don't you fucking dare!!!

Hull at home as well could turn out to be an extremely important missed opportunity. Stop looking back man! We can now look forward to getting ourselves out of the shit!
-
That's where the plan fall apart though. I wish any other team in the Prem was playing rather than us against Boro. All other teams are doing a great job of getting us good results. We however can't manage shit. It's in our own hands now and that's the point.
-
I'll bet Shearer's not sitting on his sofa now!
-
Get fucking in!!!!

The people on here making excuses for Barton seem to be forgetting his history. I've been anti Barton from the first day he walked into NUFC because of his assault on his own team mate at the time Ousmane Dabo, when he knocked the guy out cold almost with his first blow, and then continued to pound his head whilst he was unconscious. Now that's not the action of an overzealous competitor, that's the action of a psychopath. Joey Barton is akin to a wife beater who professes to love the person he hurts the most, he pleads for another chance promising it will never happen again. Those around him know he will never change, but the question is do they have the courage to say enough is enough and get rid. Well Alan Shearer and, to give him credit, Mike Ashley, have decided that enough is enough and Barton is on his way out of NUFC, despite how much it will cost the club in monetary terms, because we will be better off without him in so many other ways.
-
Hilarious stuff. I love the bit that suggests it's Shearer's fault for sticking him on the right wing.
-
You'd think so. But we'll need to win the Boro and Fulham games to have any real chance of finishing above Sunderland, not going to happen sadly Where are you expecting Sunderland to get points from? i'm expecting Sunderland to stay on 35 points meaning we need at least 5 to finish above them, given their superior goal difference. Not going to happen imo So you're saying we need two wins because we're definitely going to lose 3:0 at Villa? That's a bit odd. Personally I'd say that if we went into the villa game on the same points as Sunderland with a better goal difference and with them playing Chelsea then we'd have a real chance. I think everyone here would jump at that scenario right now. How odd that one of our "supporters" can think that way.

That last line is spot on Dave. Something people will have to come to terms with. If we do stay up, don't expect a clear out to the degree people hope for, it's just not going to be that easy. redknapp style it'll have to be, a few strategic purchases and sales plus some good loans Redknapp style? The man who just spent £46m on a decent inherited squad having arrived from bankrupting Pompey? I prefer David Moyes' style myself like.
-
Thanks for that insightful reply. Well what are you saying???
-
We all realise it's going to cost the club/us a fortune but what else do you suggest we do?
-
And likely to end in a good kicking for one or more of them if we do go down.
