I think I prefer your version

Considering it's his first full season in the Premier League I think he's been outstanding. We've signed a lot worse in the past for a lot more than the £1m we paid for this guy
-
Jamie Redknapp said last night that he reckons Tiote is a £15m player already. He must be worth close to double that.

2 new strikers has to be our priority. With Carroll gone we struggle to score goals. Keep Best and Ameobi, sell Ranger and Lovenkrands, release Kuqi.

Don't blame him for wanting out. He was one of the few players that were wanted by other clubs. Still, refusing to play for the club that gave you your first big break and put you in the shop window, paid your wages etc etc is pathetic. If you don't blame him for being such a petulant w***** fair play, I do. This is exactly why I'm nervous about us signing more French players. Almost every one who has played for us has turned out to be a back-stabbing c***! Sadly I fear that Ben Arfa will turn out to be another one, unless we can give him European football within a couple of seasons. Long-haired Argies are the way forward! TBH, I am still surprised we got HBA. Never thought for one minute we were more than just a stepping stone for him. As strange as it sounds, the leg break might end up being a blessing in disguise for us, as he'll play at least all of next season I would have thought. Also, depending on how skeptical you are, he's the perfect Ashley buy, bought for a reasonable fee with the potential for him to be sold on for two or three times the amount. You never know though, he might actually love our fans...... Let's just hope he's more Laurent Robert/Olivier Bernard than Charles N'Zogbia/Didier Domi

There's no way Ashley will sanction an £8m move for a player we sold for £8m If Tottingham are selling because they don't want him, there's no way we'd pay that much.

Anyone got any Anusol?

what makes you think that? He's talking about the sort of players he's looking to bring in, whether he has targets, and after waffling a bit about how hard it is to get the players you want he volunteers Ireland as an example of a player who is young and has lots of talent and could recharge his career at Newcastle. I got the feeling it was pretty much a done deal and wouldn't be surprised if the transfer was already agreed in principle. hope not, he's only had one really good season in his career, and despite possessing some talent, he's shown he's very weak mentally and royally f***ed up his clean slate at Villa. If he doesn't take the rest of the season by storm and shows that he is significantly better than what we already have (ie Barton and Nolan but also HBA for that central role) then we should steer well clear. There's better options out there with less baggage imo. Unfortunately you do get the impression that our transfer policy is as much as about opportunism than it is about getting in the right players. At least he has proven (albeit for one season) that he can be fantastic in this league. There's no doubt he has the ability to do it again but it's up to us to get it out of him. This is something that the best managers and coaching teams are able to do with temperamental players - it remains to be seen whether or not Pardew and Carver can. If we had Keegan or Sir Bobby managing us now i'd have every confidence that Ireland could recapture his best form.

Gervinho Taarabt Ben Arfa Ireland Barton Tiote

Seeing if he can hack it in the Premier League first maybe?
-
He's 24 in November. Doesn't really matter how old he is, he's not good enough. It's still possible to have potential to improve at that age - he's already proven that this season - but it would be an unnecessary risk IMO
-
Nigel De Jong perhaps?
-
I've seen plenty of Gradel and although he has potential, he is definitely not ready for the Premier League yet by a long stretch. He loses the ball a lot in the championship and has a tendency to try to do too much on his own so he'd be a liability at the top level right now. Fair enough he's got a few goals and a few assists but he will not improve us in any way. Given some decent coaching and a slow introduction to first team action he might be alright but I'd rather we signed players who can do a job in the first team straight away.

Doesn't need to be so. FA could sanction a rule that enables them to override referees decisions only in situations where serious violations (three match bans or more) were ignored: Eg. assault, two-footed tackles. Those situations tend to be fairly obvious when watched afterwards on TV, Consequently, they are not difficult to enforce But if the FA deems that the referee has ignored the incident then they must surely be forced to take action on the referee.
-
Clattenburg said he saw the incident at the time and took appropriate action. If that's the case, and if the FA can't overrule him, then they should sack him. That is within their power
-
This is the most blatant case that i've ever seen of the referees and FA favouring Man Utd. It is a fucking disgrace and, as a previous poster pointed out, is tantamount to corruption. None of us have any faith in the FA to do the right thing any more, but this takes things to a whole new level. Turning a blind eye while Clattenburg more or less admits to being dodgy is a fucking scandal and exposes the FA for what they really are. This should be the catalyst for major investigations and change at the top but it won't be. In a few weeks it'll all be swept under the carpet and Clattenburg will continue to referee Premier League games. The whole thing makes me fucking sick!
-
Even though the whistle had already gone, he hit another peach of a volley yesterday from just outside the box. The lad has got some serious tekkers!
-
Why the fuck would he want to do that? It's not like he left on particularly bad terms and we always gave him plenty of support when he was here. All respect I previously had for him has gone, the ungrateful spineless prick!
-
Considering he recently said that he'd like to spend the rest of his career here, i'd have to agree. Unless of course he is ambitious enough to want to win some trophies during his career, in which case I couldn't really blame him for leaving.
