Indeed........I spoke to the Rent-a-Mong office this afternoon and their entire staff is booked out for tomorrow. Should be a window-licking classic. Watch out for the bloke who always elbows the kids out of the way to get on camera whilst holding up the back page of the Chronicle. He'll more than likely be dribbling a bit. I guarantee he'll be there - he always is! Oliver?

*Walks straight into managers office* AO: "Hiya Sam, who you gonna sign this summer then, any names? SA: "Alan?" AO: "Yes Sam" SA: "Get the fuck out of my office before I call security" *Next Day* Working Hard by Alan Oliver, the Evening Chronicle Sam Allardyce is working non-stop to get new faces into Newcastle over the coming weeks, but the Toon manager is keeping his cards close to his chest and refuses to reveal any targets to the media. However, my inside knowledge at the club suggests that Steve Sidwell and Brett Emerton may well be on their way to the club despite Sidwell's recent transfer to Chelsea. Reports linking the club with Silvan Distin are wide of the mark.

Be shocked if it didn't tbh. Pretty obvious that Clark and Mc aren't up to much as coaches, and Allardyce is renowned for his approach to coaching/fitness. I'd expect he'll look to bring in some people who actually know what they're doing, don't you? But knowing Shepherd, he'll try to compromise and go 50-50 with SA saying "You can have 'blah', 'blah' and 'blah' on the condition that Lee Clark remains in his role as Reserve Team Manager and you give Pearson a coaching role" Maybe it's just the optomist in me, but I get the impression that Freddy is starting to see the light a bit in terms of giving his mangers total control over things. Actually despite what I said, I'm inclined to agree. I don't think Allardyce would be taking over unless he was given anything but 100% control. After all, he reportedly turned us down on two previous occaisons, what else could be the difference now?

The transfer window will be open soon...

I agree, whether he had a right to storm out or not because of the way he's been treated, he's just fucked up his future as this club by storming out the way he did. Regardless of how much he's been left out, he now looks like the bad guy and the next manager will want him out as soon as possible and that's a big shame. If he'd weathered the storm, he'd still have a future here.

Look on the bright side, it's better than all those defeats we'd been having away from home
-
Not only can he manage, play and coach, he's also a qualified doctor. All of that and he is 100% Geordie blood; christ, there's none better than Super Clark. We should give him a new contract

Who cares? First-half diagnosis? Second-half diagnosis? Full-time diagnosis? Star man for United? Worst United player? Opposition comment? Toon-pros? Toon-cons? Post-match feelings?

Simple poll. Owen's been stretchered off against Watford after taking a knock to the head off Pattison. Will it be the last time we'll see him playing for the Toon? I don't reckon it will be. The man will be here next season I reckon. I think the paper talk is just that, mindless gossip that happens all the time. Owen's a good player and a currently bad club so he's bound to be linked with leaving.

Owen being stretchered off...but it's for a suspected concussion, no knee problem.
-
That says it all

This should still be a title decider but we and Arsenal had to f*** it up by nicking a draw off them
-
We're not playing on another planet. Whether they know the North East or not, they've worked in the Premier League before and have been successful. Got fuck all to do with whether they know Newcastle or not.

After constantly denying SGE will be getting the job and saying Allardyce is definitely who we're going to get but there's no transfer funds, I fully expect Errikson to be the next manager and us to have a large transfer kitty
-
It's funny how we have more of these threads now then we did last year when we actually didn't have a clue who the next manager is gonna be
-
This from today's Mirror is quite interesting: It sounds good in theory, if Allardyce can put it into practice, there's no reason why he can't be a success here. He seems a much better manager than the previous two in terms of organisation, tactics etc.

Magpies set to appoint Allardyce Former Bolton boss Sam Allardyce will be the next Newcastle manager, BBC Radio Newcastle understands. Glenn Roeder resigned as manager on Sunday after a disappointing season. Allardyce, who resigned from his position as Bolton boss on 29 April, turned down the chance to manage the Magpies just under three years ago. Roeder's number two Nigel Pearson, who will be assisted by Lee Clark and Terry McDermott, will take charge of Sunday's final game of the season at Watford. Last year Allardyce was interviewed for the England managerial position following the exit of Sven-Goran Eriksson after the 2006 World Cup. However, he was beaten to the job by Steve McClaren. Allardyce pledged to focus on Bolton after missing out on a role he publicly stated he would "love", but resigned with two league games of the season remaining. Under Allardyce, Bolton reached a League Cup final and in the past he has also guided the club to European football. Roeder resigned on Sunday after he and chairman Freddy Shepherd had come under fire from fans after the home defeat by Blackburn on Saturday. The 2-0 defeat by Rovers also meant Newcastle had the unenviable record of failing to score in a fifth successive home league game for the first time since 1951. Newcastle, a club with debts of around £80m, are currently 13th in the Premiership. Other candidates for the managerial position include former skipper Alan Shearer, although he has still to obtain the required coaching badges that the Premier League now insists managers must have before they can manage a club. Blackburn manager Mark Hughes, Eriksson and Sevilla's Juande Ramos have also been linked with the vacancy. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/n/newcastle_united/6632667.stm

Pearson in charge with Clark and McDermott assisting on Saturday
JH replied to Leazes1986's topic in Football
Chances are if we put a blade of grass in charge against Watford we'd win the game. The players have no pressure, no manager desperate for results, no manager, they can just go out and enjoy themselves and play some good football, as Pearson will no doubt tell them. -
If we win games, who gives a fuck?
-
Christ, shows what they know, 1969 was 38 years ago. The Fairs Cup does count as an actual trophy
-
Buying his contract from that third party company is reportedly costing West Ham in excess of £20m, I don't think we have the money for that, especially with Martins and Owen in the squad.

BREAKING NEWS on SSN: Sources close to Sam Allardyce say he will be the next Newcastle manager.
